• hedonism: many great artists are famous for their depiction of hedonism and joie de vivre - images of people dancing in parks, restaurants, homes, etc; images of people smoking and drinking together (or alone)...so many inspirations come from social activities and being out in bars and restaurants or parties and parks. For an aspiring artist, why spend time studying them when instead you can go participate and seek out those activities directly to get inspiration from the source, in the current age? To better understand how the great ones depict these scenes from their own times, isn't it a necessity to experience these scenes in today's world and then examine how to translate them into art to capture them? The best art is the translation by the artist's mind and eye of the electricity of life, felt from direct experience
