- The Idiot
- All of Jane Austen's novels. Except the epistolary, Lady Susan. I don't like epistolary novels.
- Everything I've read by PG Wodehouse- which is the Bertie Wooster books. I haven't delved into PSmith yet, I should.
- Robin McKinley's older works, The Hero and the Crown, The Blue Sword, Beauty. Recent, not so much.
- Lloyd Alexander, especially the Taran series
- The Wasp Factory by Iain Bainks. Not because its as awesome as all that, but because it stays with me, in wisps.
- Beverley Nichols' garden/autobiographical novels. So funny, so touching. I wish they were available more cheaply and more common at the library.
- Steppenwolf. Really, any of Herman Hesse's books. I've read them all, I think. I've even read his poetry.
- The Judge Dee series of historic mysteries by Van Gulik
- Mindplayers by P. Cadigan Which I should re-read. Its been years.
- The Diamond Age by N. Stephenson
- My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell. This is book is the most funny book in the world.
