- Back in the 80’s when using computers first became popular, we saw movies like War Games where a teenaged kid unsuspectingly starts a real war through what he believes to be a computer game. In the 90’s, computers began evolving their problem-solving features and even started beating human players in chess. In the 2000’s, computers began drawing power from the internet and could beat a human player at the question and answer game show, Jeopardy. Now, it looks like computers have reached a pinnacle, because this summer marked the first time a computer has beat a human in an actual debate.
