It sounds disgusting, but it’s actually just a few staple household ingredients mixed together to create a fun, gooey substance that’s a lot of fun to play around with. You can squeeze it, toss it, and sculpt it into an awesome figure or a statue. Kids and parents alike are learning to appreciate the delicacies of slime because it’s so easy to make and it will keep you and your family entertained for hours on end. Types of Slime
There’s more than one kind of slime, just like there are many different ways to make it. Some of the most popular types of slime include:
· Classic slime – available in any color
· Magnetic slime – slime that reacts to magnetic fields
· Glow-in-the-dark slime – pretty self-explanatory
· Glitter slime – slime made with glitter
· Edible slime – yup, it’s safe to eat

Slime Recipes
Classic Slime
To make classic slime, you’ll need to follow the instructions below:
- Pour 4 ounces of white glue into a bowl (regular glue that your kids would use a school will do just fine).
- Stir in ½ cup of water into the bowl.
- Add food coloring if you want slime that’s not white (most kids will prefer colored slime).
- In a separate bowl, pour in one cup of water and 1 teaspoon of borax powder.
- Mix together the glue mixture and the borax powder mixture.
- Now just play with the slime and let some of the excess water stay in the bowl. The slime will get firmer the more you play with it.
Glow-in-the-Dark Slime
Turn off the lights and learn how to make glow-in-the-dark slime.
- Follow the same instructions laid out above for making classic slime, but now add a 1/8 teaspoon of zinc sulfide powder or glow-in-the-dark paint to the mix.
- Once the slime is created and reasonably firm, you can shine a light on the mixture, so that it captures the light.
- Now turn off the lights and your light should glow in the dark!
Storing Your Slime
Slime is a fun activity for kids of all ages, but when your kids are done playing with the slime, they’re going to need a place to keep it safe. Otherwise it will get extremely dirty. Slime is made with glue, which makes it sticky. It will collect dirt, dust, hair and whatever else is lying around your home.
