NEW YEARS EVE 2024:
- fishlets - pixel art insaniquarium with an idle mode. more chill than insaniquarium bit has the same gimmick of feed your fish, get more money, occasionally fend off attackers. has a new tank cleanliness mechanic that decreases with dead fish and spoiled food (food that touches the ground).
- graveyard keeper - slow crafting/resource management game where you complete tasks and manage a graveyard. lots of back and forth, honestly kind of relaxing. there's a seemingly endless map in a detailed top down pixel art style. a lot of people complain about the back and forthiness, so im a little worried the relaxingness of it will become tedious. you get to eat and sell human flesh, no biggie. dynamic footprints!!
- project highrise - goal based skyscraper builder where you build a really tall building and lease out different spaces (residential, retail, etc) to tenants. tenants have different requirements you must meet
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 2025:
- untitled goose game - fun, simple puzzle game where you are a goose and you cause trouble. i helped thd groundskeeper put all his carrots in a basket before i tortured him
- word factori - a fun, simple little factory game where you morph the letter I into the other letters of the alphabet using various machines! initially it asks you to just make letters, but eventually it aaks you to make words by stringing together the different letters you build. most letters also have alternate recipes, and theres challenge rounds where your machines are limited.
- luck be a landlord - an incredibly creative slot machine roguelike where you pay your rent using a slot machine. you can add different symbols to the slot machine, and there's loads of different synergies. it is a very gripping game. always good to see steam workshop support!!!
- calculate it - another very creative game, a calculator rogulike. lots of mental math in this one, lots of Skill Issueing. theres a couple incomprehensible and it's a pain to not die when completely out of valid moves, im hoping that those things are fixed in further updates because the game is crazy addictive
- dredge - a difficult, slow fishing simulator with a dark atmosphere. fun, but irritating!! nighttime scares me, and all the islands are stressfully far away. it has block based inventory management, which i like
- leaf blower revolution - an incremental game where you blow leaves off screen to get currency to blow even more leaves. a pretty fun idle game with leaf physics and more depth than it seems. has lore, but im not rly interested. fun combat where you blow leaves at...wildlife ig!
- one hour one life - a community based life simulator where you are born to another player and have to survive your 60 minute life with hunting, crafting, and relying on community. i havent gotten past the tutorial
- pincremental - a pinball themed incremental! play pinball to get points, use points to upgrade and get even more points. it's arcade themed! the resolution is terrible on steamdeck, and the ui is confusing. i do wish the pinball controls were the left and right triggers by default, but i guess it wasnt made for controller. the game seems to be designed to be played in windowed mode. it has a lot of complicated math with arcade leasing, stock shares, and crazy stuff like that. i cant say i fully understand what im doing, but i am enjoying my pinball
- dungeon village - neat little village building game where you create a town of adventurers that bring you lots of money through questing and buying equipment and necesities. there's different stats you need to manage such as money and popularity, and the fees are brutal. or maybe im playing wrong. the devs have a huge catalogue of similar games that i will certainly be checking out in the future. the controls are a little unintuitive at times, and the text is that kind of hideous default font, but that doesnt take too much away
- say no! more - a silly adventure game where you say no in various ways to people, or dont, to progress. satisfying to tell annoying people nnnnNO! after laughing at them. being able to change your no voice to any language is neat
- my name is mayo - weird clicker game where you click a jar of mayo to get 50 achievements. each achievement gives you a new costume, and most achievements branch off previous ones and tell a story. theres also a weird little shooter minigame. cheap, short, and simple game
- _beholder__ - a dark and gritty dnftm-like spying game where you play a horrible shitty landlord that snitches on his tenants and family for the corrupt government. difficult. has an interesting design where you can gradually see amounts of the units based on the cameras you place.
