do not burn yourself out by leaving all your work to the last minute. i know teachers say this all the time but make sure you do your work as soon as you get it, or pace yourself through a big assignment so you have plenty of time to revise/proof-read and to submit.

don’t give up your social life for year 12, make sure you’re still going out with friends and spending time with family during the year. i know everyones like “oh you have to dedicate 50 hours a week outside of school to studying” but if you know that you understand your work, don’t over-do the study. go have fun!

make sure you get at least 5-7 hours of sleep every night, don’t diet, don’t change the way you eat, drink lots of water (water in the morning is known to make you remember better), make yourself aware of yourself and always have self-respect. don’t ever beat yourself up over a score or mark that you’re not happy with. that’s just a way to work up the ladder.

don’t forget that year 12 is not the end of the world if you don’t get what you want, the world outside of highschool is far more exciting than just an ATAR so make sure you know your worth and don’t always rely on what you get at the end of the day. it can be a motivation but don’t let it take over your life that you become upset/ angry/ depressed. remember that you have your peers and teachers who can help you out and motivate you too!

oh and make sure if you ever feel like the world is ending or you’re really stressed out, have a cry, eat ice-cream or have a really good shower. and if you need to nap during the day, NAP.
