• ~Jane Addams Hull-House Museum~

The Hull-House Settlement was founded by Jane Addams and Ellen Gates Starr as a place to serve the needs of the community, mainly catering to immigrants. After eleven of the original thirteen buildings were demolished to make room for the University of Illinois, Hull-House became a museum landmark. Hull-House is full of ghosts, the most famous including a Lady in White and a Devil Baby (supposedly a demonic infant locked a way in the attic by Addams herself.) The Devil Baby legend began in 1912 and was supposedly the inspiration for 'Rosemary's Baby'.
