During the winter, Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (also known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park) is temporary home to colonies of both international and local migratory birds.It originally began as a Imperial British-built hunting reserve in the 1850s, only accessible to the British and Maharajas, but was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and national park in the 1980s. Guided tours are a vailable, and trails are accessible by bike, rickshaw, and foot and lead to a temple at the end.
