• ~Popper Synagogue (Synagoga Poppera (Synagoga Mała)- Księgarnia Austeria)~

The Popper Synagogue, named after merchant and benefactor Wolf Popper (nicknamed 'The Stork'), is now a bookstore but originally was a worship site built in the 17th century, first having been mentioned in 1653. The temple was the most luxurious of all those in Krakow, and the cost of upkeep nearly led to bankruptcy. All of this was greatly damaged in WWII, but was repaired; in the 1960s it underwent a renovation and later in 2005 one final repair took place. Art workshops are frequently held there, hosted by the YCC.
