• ~Kilchurn Castle~

Kilchurn Castle, located on Loch Awe, was originally built around 1450 by Lord Colin Campbell. Ownership shifted a couple times due to territorial conflicts and it was abandoned in the 1760s after being damaged by a lightning strike and resulting fire. Kilchurn Castle has been a source of literary inspiration and provides beautiful views of the loch, its islands, graves of the Dukes of Argyll, and small chapels.

  • ~St. Andrew's Cathederal~

St. Andrew's Cathedral, built in 1158 was once Scotland's largest church. After the Scottish Reformation in the 16th century the cathedral fell into ruin (and was significantly damaged in 1559 wheen a Protestant mob destroyed the interior.) Today, the East tower and St. Rule's tower remain today, as well as a museum displaying medieval sculpture and relics, including a sarcophagus. The cathedral is rumored to be haunted by at least two ghosts, with sightings stretching back 200 years- a monk at St. Rule's Tower and a classic White Lady, and legends of murder and revenge abound.
