Opened in 2008, the Ulsan Petroglyph Museum is home to the Ulsan Bangudae Petroglyphs and Cheonjeon-ri Engraved Stones. Ulsan's long history as a whaling town is bolstered by ancient rock engravings of whales and whaling scenes evident in prehistoric artwork, which includes almost 300 figures of land and sea animals engraved on a wall 10x3 meters.
