• CLEANING
  • LAUNDRY -
  • Mix 1 cup of Ivory soap(or Fels Naptha) with half a cup
  • of washing soda and half a cup of borax. Use 1
  • tablespoon for light loads and 2 tablespoons for heavy load
  • ALL PURPOSE CLEANER -
  • 1/2 cup of vinegar, 1/4 cup of baking soda (or 2 teaspoons
  • of borax) in to 1/2 gallon of water.
  • 4 WINDOWS, FLOORS, COUNTERS, TUBS, TOILET, SINK.
  • DISINFECTANT -
  • Mix 2 tsp of borax, 4 tablespoons of vinegar and 3 cups
  • of hot water. For stronger cleaning power add 1/4
  • liquid castile soap. Wipe on with dampened cloth or use
  • spray bottle.
  • CARPET CLEANER -
  • STAIN- Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in
  • a spray bottle. Spray directly on stain, let sit for
  • several minutes, and clean with a brush or sponge using
  • warm soapy water.
  • GREASE SPOTS - Sprinkle cornstarch on to spot and wait
  • 15-30 minutes before vacuuming.
  • HEAVY SPOTS - 1/4 cup vinegar, salt, and borax. Rub
  • paste into carpet and leave for a few hours, then vacuum.
  • BATHROOM MOLD - Mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide with two
  • parts water and put in spray bottle. Spray moldy area
  • and wait 1 hour before rinsing off.
  • AIR FRESHENER(s)
  • Place lemon juice, baking soda, and vinegar in a small
  • dish and place around the house to absorb odors.
  • Prevent cooking odors - simmer vinegar (1 tsp in 1 cup
  • of water on the stove while cooking.
  • Keep fresh coffee grounds on the counter.
  • Simmer water and cinnamon or other spices on stove.
  • DEODORIZE
  • PLASTIC CONTAINERS -soak in warm water & baking soda
  • GARBAGE DISPOSAL -grind up orange & lemon peel in disposal.
  • CARPETS - sprinkle baking soda on carpet several hours
  • before vacuuming.
  • GARAGE - place sliced onion on plate in the center of
  • the room for 12-24 hours.
  • DRAIN CLEANER.
  • LIGHT CLEANING - Mix half a cup of salt in 4L of water,
  • heat but not to a boil and pour down the drain.
  • STRONGER CLEANER - Pour half cup of baking soda down
  • the drain, and then pour half a cup of vinegar. After 15 * minutes, pour boiling water in drain.
  • DISHWASHER SOAP
  • Mix equal parts borax and washing soda, but increase
  • the washing soda if the water is hard.
  • DISHWASHING SOAP
  • Add 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar to liquid soap & warm water.
  • METAL CLEANER AND POLISH
  • ALUMINUM - Use a soft cloth and Cream of Tartar & water.
  • BRASS/BRONZE- Polish with soft cloth dipped in lemon and
  • baking soda solution or salt and vinegar solution.You can * also apply a dap of ketchup on tarnished spot and rub with * soft cloth.
  • GOLD - Clean with toothpaste or a mix of salt, vinegar, and * flour.
  • SILVER - line a pain with aluminum foil and fill it with
  • water; add a teaspoon each of baking soda and salt. Bring
  • to a boil and immerse silver. Polish with softcloth.
  • STAINLESS STEEL - Clean with dampened cloth with undiluted
  • white vinegar or olive oil. For stainless Cookware - Mix for 4 tbs of baking soda in 1 quart water and apply with soft

cloth. Wipe dry using clean cloth.

  • STAINLESS STEEL SINK- Pour some club soda on an absorbent
  • clean cloth, then wipe dry with this clean cloth.
