- 15 push-ups, first thing every morning
- eating something fresh every day
- splashing cold water on my face throughout the day
- going for a walk or run when i feel like shit
- romanticizing tasks i hate via music, moodboards, & fun lighting
- avoiding politics altogether. staying up to date about your country's international relations won't prevent a war. your brain doesn't need that shit right now.
- if you're desperate to know what's going on in the world, follow some exclusively positive news outlets. yes, those exist. sam bentley has an incredible channel for that.
- freshening up with a washcloth when i don't have the energy to shower
- watching a video essay instead of doomscrolling. it's screen time but less brainrotty.

if you've read this far, you're probably struggling with something similar and are at a loss for how to fix it. take it slow. like, one toe joint at a time slow instead of a whole step cause that's overwhelming as hell. all your energy is being spent on survival and that's no easy task. it took me a *long* time to get to a point where i could roll myself out of bed at least once a day, so if you can't bring yourself to do that yet, don't worry about it. just wake up. that's awesome. go easy on yourself, yeah? you fucking deserve that. you may not believe it, but this random internet stranger does.
