HAIR

About My Hair:

  • Naturally red/strawberry blonde/whatever
  • I bleach and dye a chunk of it regularly
    • Generic Beauty supply bleach
    • Vegetable-based dyes for color
  • Fine in texture, medium amount of hair on my head
    • aka my hair strands are thin, but theres a fair amount of them covering my head
  • Straight texture
  • Prone to dryness, frizz, and breakage

My Routine

  • Wash once or twice a week
    • Sulfate-free shampoo/conditioner
    • Deep conditioner about once a month.
      • (If you’re wondering about sulfate-free shampoos, they’re AMAZING for hair because sulfates are really intense cleansing agents that are NOT harmful but they aren’t gentle on hair or membranes, so they often leave people’s hair drier than it needs to be. Some people love their shampoos with sulfates but my hair responds best to sulfate-free.)
    • Rinse my hair with cold/cool water
      • This seals the cuticle of your hair and a sealed/closed cuticle is very important for healthy and shiny hair.
  • Apple cider vinegar rinse about once a month,
    • (helps dissolve any buildup on your scalp and also helps seal the cuticle and man its just a life-saver, TRULY.)
    • I dump my cider/water mix on my head, let it sit for about 5 minutes, then rinse it out with cool/cold water. It smells funny but MAN WILL YOUR HAIR LOOK GREAT.
    • IMPORTANT NOTE: please don’t ever use Apple Cider Vinegar directly on skin. It is an ACID and it will BURN YOUR SKIN! Always make sure to use it diluted with water! I usually do 50/50 ACV/water! Some people do a 2-to-1 mix where the water is 2x the amount of ACV (start here and if its not concentrated enough, add more acv)
    • ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: When you buy Apple Cider Vinegar, it doesn’t really matter what brand it is (cause i know not everyone can afford organic everything and stuff and that’s ttly fine!), as LONG AS IT SAYS IT HAS “THE MOTHER” IN IT! i’m not entirely sure on the specifics, but the Mother is where all the good enzymes and stuff are and that’s what you want when you use it! Shake well before use because it will all settle on the bottom! ACV can be found in your local grocery store! for cheap!
