• strong signal (i own on audible)
    • deployed soldier meets a gamer with anxiety via the video game they both play / some excellent sexytimes / love both of the characters / has actual character development and a plot sort of / great narration / start of a solid series / a good intro to mm for whatever reason people find it accessible / also one of the authors is a man which i think is interesting
  • in the middle of somewhere (i own on audible)
    • slightly neurotic academic meets local lumber jack(ish) when he moves to the middle of nowhere for his first teaching job / for some reason i relisten to this a lot / again some excellent sex / why would i recommend a book with bad sex / some people find the main character annoying but i like him / characters really getting to know each other / don't read the sequels
  • for real (i own on audible)
    • BEAR WITH ME / this is probably my favorite mm ever / it's the bdsm one with the young dom and older sub / i've told you about this a lot / the narration is amazeballs / i fucking love this book / it's super long but worth it / you probably wont read this and i forgive you in advance / if you don't read this, check out glitterland by the same author which i also like and is also really well narrated / i feel a weird attachment to this author because of these books
  • perfect imperfections (i own on audible)
    • a (straight) rock star meets a guy in a bar and asks him to pretend to be his boyfriend and come on tour with him so he wont be lonely / this makes absolutely no sense and you just have to roll with it / this book is candy and fluff even within a genre of candy and fluff / decent narration / slow burn you have to wait for the sex / an example of the subgenre called "gay for you" which is exactly what it sounds like and as controversial as you think it would be / basically if you want a book with zero drama that will make you feel good and somehow also keep you hooked because you need them to make out already
  • leo loves aries
    • guys falls for his ex-tutor/current roommate who he bickers constantly with but is clearly completely in love with / just adorable and fun / college age characters and some good family interactions as well / low angst / bit of a slow burn and above guy doesn't realize he's gay / this is literally the only way to keep mm characters from having sex immediately it seems
  • in the absence of light
    • crook gets out of the game and retires to the country where he falls in love with a young man on the autism spectrum / i'm not gonna say that this is the worlds greatest example of autism in literature or that there is any reason for this premise to be good but this books is weirdly amazing / writing this makes me want to reread it / it's got medium amounts of angst and the love is intense / but it's also not dark or anything / one of those books where you reread the ending when you feel sad because it'll give you feels
  • love for the cold blooded
    • a sometimes evil minion (it's a family thing) meets a superhero because that superhero thinks he's the prostitute he hired / look i'm not here to justify myself to you or where i found this book / basically as far as i can tell weird premises can get popular in mm because there just isn't a ton out there / this is incredibly cute and hilarious / it's sort of new adult and you love both the characters and the prostitute thing shouldn't scare you off
  • a gentleman's position (on audible but i don't own (yet))
    • a gentleman falls in love with his valet gasp / so this is the third in the series and although it can be read as a standalone it really can't / and i'm not saying that it's worth reading two full length novels to get to this but that it totally what i'm saying / probably in my top five mm romances which is why it's on this list even though i know you wont read it / because i owe it to k.j. charles / the angst / the passion / the conflict / the dirty talk / the scheming / the longing / but also you know think of england by her is pretty good to i guess or whatever
