- the ends don't always justify the means
- don't value the forest or the trees more in any inherent way
- revenge usually isn't worth it
- you should always try do the right thing even if you gain nothing from doing so
- i would rather be true to myself than someone who spends an excessive amount of time trying to avoid being shamed
- it's never too late to change, even if many things are immutable
- one's worth is not determined by how productive they are
- people are often just products of their environment
- it's usually better to assume ignorance rather than intentional malicious intent
- sometimes people's views are just incompatible and there's nothing that can be done about it
- documenting things is extremely important though it's important to let go of things that no longer serve you as well
- every single person has inherent value and worth no matter who they are
- conformity should not be valued more than the wellbeing of other people
- things generally will happen as they're meant to
- acceptance of what you cannot control is often the only option, though that doesn't mean turning a blind eye to reality
