not as if i really need to make any official statement regarding this, but i've decided to stick with the set of numbers that were generated when my listography was born rather than assigning my own "unique name" to it as it's called in the settings menu.
this was actually one of the first things i recalled about how listography works upon stumbling across again in what led up to me creating my current page. before i'd even begun to sign up, i'd already decided i would keep whatever i was given upon creation of my account. this isn't some kind of grand, meaningless attempt at taking some kind of stance on things. most people won't notice the lack of a "unique name", nor will they care even if they do. outside of acknowledging it here, i'm not planning on drawing any attention to it either.
i honestly didn't even think that hard about the decision, it's just something i decided to do and have further decided to stick with. i could exposit on my rich history of instability and lack of identity, but none of that was actually involved in making the choice to this. while it's true that i change parts of my online identity (such as usernames) much like one changes clothes, to relate that to my choice here would be applying meaning where there wasn't really any. it's like trying to wax poetically about making a baloney sandwich for lunch.
i spend an obsessive amount of time trying to find meaning in literally anything. i know myself well enough to know i'll probably find meaning in this decision sometime down the line that i'll forget wasn't always there.
more than anything, this is reminder to myself that this wasn't actually anything grand.
