So a few years ago I had the choice whether I would give up absolutely everything to come care for my mother full time so that my dad would be able to finish his job out (a profession he calls his calling in life) and retire on a decent pension. She’s 96% blind (and hallucinates regularly), suffered a stroke, is suffering from substantial memory loss, and can’t walk far or do much for herself. Dad refuses to put her in a home and she refuses to go, and after the year we’ve had, I’m almost relieved about that.

My mother was consistently abusive to all of us growing up, something she no longer has the strength for (it wasn’t a day ending in y if she hadn’t screamed at the top of her lungs for an hour first), but fragments of this temper still emerge (although she thankfully wears herself out now after twenty minutes), and the memory loss has advanced to even more intens...

This fic was nearly titled "the nine deaths of steve rogers", so hopefully that explains what this warning is gonna cover:

Steve dies. A lot. So do Tony, Natasha, Pietro, and Bucky to an extent. Steve dies the most in the fic.

This fic is set in a GLADIATOR ARENA, so there is a lot of violence typical to that setting; many characters do die in gruesome ways in the (multiple occasions of) combat. This fic is 20% fight scenes.

The fic compromises of the REALLY GROSS ICKY WORMS from Fantastic Four #600 that bring people back to life, so NONE OF OUR MAIN CAST REMAIN DEAD FOR LONG.

Two of Steve's deaths could be considered along the veins of suicide. Both of them are for reasons of self-sacrifice-to-save-others. If that would be a trigger to you, PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS FIC.

Julia is holding Cora's life over Derek's head to coerce him into marrying her. She's using a magic spell to control him the rest of the time. It is implied that Derek is not having sex with her.

The only loophole in her control he can find is having sex with Stiles. There is no verbal consent in their encounters. Derek would consent to it if he could, he's just spelled that he can't. Stiles would consent but he's an idiot who doesn't say it out loud.
