My current oc universe contains gods, humans, and semi-immortals called kisri. Here I'll list some notable characters with brief descriptions.

Here are folks we've already met in writing!

  • Sarhahn: the boi who got this all started, a proud fucker and a kisri who punishes blasphemers. He gets a lot of favoritism from the gods because he's unforgiving to his targets and is considered reliable as a result. He considers the gods hypocritical and untrustworthy and wishes to become a god in order to be free from their rule. His hair is curly, black, and shoulder length, his eyes are dark brown, and he got dat "could be 16 or 25" look. He has a peacock tail that he refuses to unfan in the presence of humans, and gold feathers run from the nape of his neck down his back.
  • Vatt: a water god represented by the pike who lives in a raincloud, regulates rain, and purifies water at the ground level in her territory. She/her pronouns.
  • The Snake God: a feral god whose territory borders Vatt's. She wants to stay far from the affairs of other gods, humans, and kisri, and so enforces a strict "do not kill" rule for visiting outsiders.
  • Tiya: daughter of the head priest of a small farming town near the border of Vatt's territory and the feral snake god. Has one older brother and a justifiable fear of snakes.
  • Typha: a younger friend of Tiya's, works in church records and can be easy to scare. Probably too curious about gods and such for her own good. Has two younger brothers.
  • Chali: an older friend of Typha and Tiya. She's an only child. Tends to worry other people about possible bad outcomes of their choices if they don't exactly line up with what she would do.

Characters yet to be introduced!

  • Tocal: a jumping spider god referred to as the god of life. She administers the contracts that permit worshipped gods to receive strength from their humans' belief, and also she maintains pacts that permit kisri to communicate with gods across long distances.
  • Alaban: Sarhahn's first and former lover. A kisri who originally also had the task of punishing blasphemers, but he, like many others, struggled with being quite as relentless as Sarhahn and occasionally lightened punishments for them. He's rather easygoing in his daily life. He's very tall and muscular, has four arms, sharp teeth, black hair+beard and brown eyes. He has the apparent age of 35. He and Sarhahn had a falling out when Alaban agreed to contract indefinitely with Tocal.
  • Jaguar-centaur kisri (unnamed): another punishment kisri, previously punished blasphemy but has since specialized in lighter crimes specific to individual gods. She worked on an old project with Alaban once, and has not returned to punishing blasphemy since. She's not fond of Sarhahn (though he does try to flirt with her sometimes). Apparent age is 40.
  • Captain of the Guard (unnamed): a human living in a domain with a significant minority of Godless people. They/them pronouns. Current populations of the Godless are descendants of refugees from a civilization that was forced out of its home and had its ties to its god severed. Like most other Godless, they distrust the kisri and local churches due to tense histories with both. Lawful Tired.
  • Lamb kisri (unnamed): a kisri who gives blessings. She has the appearance of a child with a lamb's lower half. Is usually doted on by the church of the locality she's visiting. She's kind to humans and sees them as generally deserving of favors from gods. As a result, she also considers punishment kisri to be a necessary evil in the world at best. She and Sarhahn can barely be in the same room without arguing.
