- Stop apologizing reflexively — replace “sorry” with “thank you for waiting/clarifying/etc.”
- Make women’s sports the unnamed default.
- instead of basketball & women’s basketball say: basketball and men’s basketball.
- Wear whatever makes you feel powerful, regardless of “male gaze” and expectations.
- Don’t step aside on the sidewalk; be polite, but take up space. Let men move around you.
- Give other women compliments that don’t have to do with their looks/physical appearance.
- Default to any & all positions as female, using she/her pronouns until told otherwise.
- Carrying your feminine products openly in your hand when walking b/c there’s nothing to be ashamed of.
- Continue to speak even if a man speaks over you.
- Support women owned/led businesses.
- Calling your guy friend’s friends as his boyfriends, rather than “the guys.”
- Don’t praise men for the bare minimum; expect more for yourself and know what you deserve.
- Using typically “girly” colors for work projects/presentations.
- Always address the women in the group first.
- Ask men, “do you work?” rather than “what do you do for work?”
- Ask men to explain their misogynistic jokes then say, “I don’t get it, why is that funny?”
