SAC Platform

  • Increase in-school communication throughout student body (e.g. continuation of grade rep reports & monthly general meetings; suggestion box/Q&A sessions/FAQ)
  • Bring back club exec meetings monthly (to confer our plans and put them in unity)
  • Put different duties and procedures into one place -- SAC website (e.g. tech request process, reimbursement process, food and beverage policy, election process and rules -- show by doing; although not directly in charge, I have the HTML/CSS skills required to update the website and have been working on it for the past year)
  • More interactive events (Haunted House, Fall Festival, Cocoa w/ Kris Kringle + free hot cocoa, League tournament...?; free things during exam weeks etc.)
  • More RELEVANT events (e.g. based on campaigns in the community -- e.g. raising awareness for _?)
  • Grade 9 leadership conference (similar to JUMP)

Main Priority

  • Communication: Improve inter-school communication (heighten awareness of events in the community; allow Peel students to interact with each other seamlessly - social media; set up website; actively promote Peel groups like PSPC, MYAC, and PEYA)
  • Mental Health: Find ways for students to learn how to cope with stress; and modes of getting to know one another

What does communication encompass?

  • Social interaction: active/spirit events throughout Peel (to become a more cohesive group -- PSPC Conference, etc.); reaching out can help foster positive relationships between students
  • Volunteer opportunities (work with Volunteering Peel, look into helping out with the community)
  • Academic help (tips to become successful no matter where you study -- forums, opportunities for students to play an active role in helping each other become the best they can be)
  • Suggestion box (free to contact at all times with ideas -- want to be YOUR mouthpiece)

Why me?

  • Involved: gr9 onwards[SAC, DECA, Drama, PSPC, Debate], last summer[Shad Valley]
  • Responsible: maintain high academic average
  • Open-minded & Compassionate: Charmaine AC, come talk to me!; I care about the issues that affect every single student.
