Hi I am also known as Derpy (or just Derp) and I am speaking in third-person here in the entries yes. I am using this for keeping track of OCs that are either old or I hardly use. Or for Gmod OCs or whatever.

Dorphy

First Appearance: A completely normal HL2 Stream

Role: Supporting Main Character

"You know, Gobman, if you pause the game and select the party option, you can view the members of your party, right?"

Dorphy is a Protogen made by Black Mesa who was discarded for her frequent malfunctioning and was found at the beginning of the first HL2 stream in a series of HL2 streams by Dufster (DufsterTwitch) and was found in the bench room before the checkpoint area at the beginning of Half-Life 2 alongside Milk. Dorphy is mainly known for frequently making mistakes, most notably the mistake of always getting specifically Gordon's name wrong 99% of the time. Other than Gordon Freeman, she says Gob, Gobman, Gordo, Gim, Gulgamore, Gargamel, Gorbius, Gimby, Gibby, Galemeus, Fryman, Fritterman, Fryboy, and more. She also shows an obsession over mac & cheese and milk, not to be mistaken for the actual character Milk who was named after said product. Dorphy also acts as a tutorial character of sorts, explaining what ladders and armor charge stations do, as well as telling Gordon to enter his inventory and look at his "party" to keep track of people. At first when found she didn't have a name, and she was given the name Milk which she misinterpreted as "Dorpy" somehow and that turned into Dorphy, which she stuck with. The name Milk was then given to another individual.

Appearance:

Dorphy has the appearance of a basic Protogen with a smooth gray tail and purple metallic parts.

Abilities:

  • The same speed and weapon abilities as everyone else in her party.
  • The ability to climb walls and get to otherwise unreachable areas (she displays this in the canal segment where she climbs on a barrier for a brief moment).
  • The ability to use the "Black Mesa Sweet Voice." Claims it is a way of communicating and wirelessly transferring data.

Trivia:

  • Although it is hard to hear, at the part of the game where they exit out into City 17 for the first time, she says she "thought (she) was the only woman (there)" when another individual mistakes Bob for being female, suggesting she is a female robot despite her masculine voice.
  • It has yet to be thoroughly explained why she was kicked out of Black Mesa, but there is canonical lore to her. All that is known is that she was kicked out due to not working right.
  • She was originally intended to have pets, such as Pikmin to fight with or SCP-096. The latter idea was rejected for obvious reasons, but the former was scrapped simply due to the game mode not allowing Pikmin to be spawned, making the respective "Olimar Gun" to throw them with pointless.
  • She is possibly already acquainted with Milk in some way, seeing as they were in the room together at the beginning before Gordon arrived. She even acknowledges this herself as she says that they "were in the room with (them)" but she then states she was communicating with another individual.
  • ^Before Gordon entered the room, she was communicating with an NPC about how some day she'd have her own yacht with lots of party and game rooms, 5 bedroom and bathrooms, a kitchen, and a lot of macaroni & cheese and milk.
  • ^^At the table she was occupying in the beginning, she had a carton of milk with her.
  • She makes a few references to the YouTube channel Venturiantale throughout the streams, such as referring to the buckets of oil (or whatever it is) as macaroni & cheese, and even suggesting that Father Grigori's name was "Papa Acachalla." The aforementioned channel had a character named Papa Acachalla who used Girgori's model, and they also in their episode on the Tripod map referred to the cans of oil as macaroni and cheese.
  • At one part in the airboat segment of the game, in a building with an unoccupied APC, she mentions the small boxes on the shelves have "buncakes" in them. This is a reference to how Derpy, her creator, called those boxes on the shelves in that area "buncakes" for god knows what reason when he was young.
  • Dorphy is similar to Dr. Coomer, almost paralleling him in a way. She has a somewhat similar way of speaking, acts like an NPC/Tutorial Character at times, and even says "Hello Gordon!" at some points. These similarities could support the theory that Gordon's partners in this series are simply hallucinations representing his old scientist friends back in Black Mesa, whether it be that he misses them or has PTSD.
  • ^Respectively, Milk could represent Tommy, Bob could represent Benry, and Dingle (although not much is known about them at the present moment as far as I know) could represent Bubby. But I don't know. This is just a stupid idea I'm coming up with at 5:09 AM.

Name References:

Her names for Gordon Freeman tend to be subtle references. These are the intended references:

  • Gordo and Gim are references to enemies from the Kirby series, Gordo and Gim.
  • Gargamel is a reference to Gargamel, the villain from The Smurfs.
  • Gorbius is a reference to Morbius. At one point she even accuses him of being another individual from Black Mesa named "Gorbius" who uses the phrase "It's Gorbin' Time!"
  • Gibby is a reference to Gibby from iCarly.
  • Gob is a reference to Gob from My Singing Monsters.
  • Grendel is a reference to Grendel, the first monster in Beowulf.

Random Quotes Lol:

  • "Macaroni and cheese, yes please!"
  • "Hey everybody c'mon let's go!" (My Singing Monsters reference)
  • "No stone left unturned, no pole left unflipped, no road left unwalked!"
  • "Did you forget about me?" (Spy from TF2 reference)
  • "Open your inventory..."
  • "Take a barrel, roll it down, take it all around town!"
  • "61 is the max health, right? 91 is the max health, right?"
  • "OH NO, BEES! NOT THE BEEEES!" (The Wickerman reference)
