• San Diego Sports Superfan (dork), (Middle school)
    • I basically wore Padres, Chargers, and Chargers Super Bowl t's, along with various other sports-team shirts that my mom would bring me from her layovers across the nation. There probably wasn't a day in middle school that I did not wear a shirt donning some MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL franchise on it... and I often sported my duds with jean-shorts, mind you. Yikes! I was a total dweeb and had no shame.
  • Trend-O-Rama, (First two years of high school)
    • I had just relocated back to supercool Southern California buuut was overweight, brace-faced, timid as hell, friend-less, and desperate to fit in. I therefore decided to buy fancy shirts at such trenderiffic mall hot-spots as Pacific Sunwear and Miller's Outpost, trying to look as much like Pacey, Dawson, Angel, Xander and all those other uber-hip WB characters as I could. I even bleached my friggin' tips. I did all this to try and mask the fact I was the biggest nerd EVER. And chicks dug it... O wait, noooo they didn't!
  • Laid-back, SoCal Surfrat D-Bag, (Final two years of high school)
    • I lost a ton of weight, I got my varsity jacket, I was hanging out with the popular kids, I was hooking up with girls for the first time in my life and hell, I was even voted "Team Heartthrob" by the girls of the cross country team. Basically, I thought I was the SHIT. So of course, I had to look as 'cool' as all the other 'cool' kids. This was accomplished by wearing anything and everything Quicksilver, Billabong, Rusty and Volcom, sagging my shorts (NEVER wore long pants), wearing flip-flops, skaters shoes, Oakleys, board shorts, surf-brand hats, visors etc.. I was a surfer! Except for the fact that I didn't surf. There's a word for that... o yeah, "POSER".
  • The Hardcore Scenester, (First two-three years of college)
    • O yes, I had discovered scene music. I was now going to shows at SOMA, the Epicentre, The Scene (now defunct) and the Che Cafe, so OF COURSE I had to dress like it. How could I listen to bands like Converge, American Nightmare, Bleeding Through and Norma jean without sporting girls jeans and bands shirts that were a size too small? And cut my hair?? Fuck that! I was way too hardcore, bro!
  • Being a Twenty-Something, (Late college years to present day)
    • T-shirts and jeans, bands shirts, button-up surf-brand shirts, cuorduroys, Chuck Taylors, Members Only jackets... whatever the hell I feel comfortable in. Doesn't matter. Incorporates a little of everything above, as long as it makes me feel like me and not like I'm trying to be someone else. Oh, and it's gotta be durable cuz I shop for clothes about once every two years. Hooray!
