𑁍 Lianzi was born in the Fire Nation to a native father and a Water Tribe descendant mother. He was a Waterbender, like his mother and excelled greatly at healing.

𑁍 Growing up in a nation full of Firebenders or non-bending martial artists, he never gained the aptitude for utilizing his element in combat, but had a natural affinity for weaponry and martial arts.

𑁍 From a young age, he was lauded as a ‘genius’, a prodigy who could do anything he set his mind to.

➳ Most things came naturally to him. He excelled in various fields—from domestic chores and liberal arts, to athletics and combat capabilities.

𑁍 Yet he never sought to make his talents widely known. He didn’t want glory or recognition—he just wanted to help the people around him in any way he could.

𑁍 Because both Lianzi and his mother were renowned for their efficiency and expertise, communities in both the Fire Nation and parts of the Earth Kingdom were reliant on their aid.

➳ They were deemed trustworthy enough to attend to the Fire Nation royalty, with Lianzi eventually becoming one of Izumi’s personal attendants and a close confidant.
