• Post-canon! — Wei Wuxian in his original body. For reasons undivulged, he departed from the Cloud Recesses. He has returned to Lotus Pier and rejoined the Yunmeng Jiang Sect to support his Shidi.

ˋ • The reasoning for re-manifesting his original form is because his soul was gradually losing compatibility with its host body / vessel .

ˋ◦ Driven to the point of near-insanity—due to his living conditions in Gusu—he invented a spell to return his soul to his original body and flee the Cloud Recesses.

Obviously, he is in his original body—though his skin is a bit paler and the scar left by the Wen branding iron is no longer present on his chest. He does retain the surgical scar on his abdomen from when he had his Golden Core removed and transferred.

• The scar is an inky black color and the surrounding skin has been tainted with a gray, corpse-like pigment. This is because the lack of Golden Core made it more difficult to heal + the scar was torn back open when Wen Chao tossed him into the Burial Mounds—the wound was an optimal entry point for the resentful energy to infect his body.
