• Amy Sherman Palladino (for obvious reasons)
  • J.J. Abrams (Almost Human, Believe, Person of Interest, Felicity, Star Trek)
  • Joss Whedon (Firefly, Buffy, Avengers, wrote the first Toy Story)
  • Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars, iZombie)
  • Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Stardust, X-Men)

Almost all-time favourite:

  • Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, some episodes of the Office, Freaks and Geeks, the new Ghostbusters, Spy)
  • Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds is amazing)
  • Christopher Nolan (Memento still fucks me up)
  • Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan and Catch Me if You Can are definitely in my top 25 movies, him and Tom Hanks are a winning combo)
  • Andrew Niccol (Gattaca is one of my top 10 favourites, and In Time was really good)
  • Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future)
  • Russo Brothers (Captain America 2 and 3, Community, Happy Endings)

LEAST FAVOURITE:

  • Michael Bay
  • Zack Snyder (fuck you for ruining Superman)

Overrated, but with some good films:

  • Woody Allen (loved Midnight in Paris, very meh about everything else)
  • Wes Anderson (always love the cinematography, plots are never satisfying)

No strong opinions:

  • Martin Scorsese (I always start them -Wolf of Wall Street, Hugo- but can't seem to finish them)
  • David Fincher (always leave his movies feeling very unsatisfied, almost as if last 10 minutes were cut and an open-ended ending was added, like in Gone Girl, The Social Network, Fight Club, etc. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was infuriatingly slow and boring)
  • Coen Brothers (I just think that if you can sit through an entire one of their movies, you have amazing stamina. I've started Fargo, No Country for Old Men, and True Grit but I can't seem to finish)

Directors I've only watched a couple of things from from but should check out more:

  • Ridley Scott (loved In Her Shoes, the Martian)
  • Marc Webb (loved 500 Days of Summer, Limitless the TV show and Spiderman, need to give Crazy Ex-Girlfriend another chance and see Gifted, (mostly because Chris Evans and Jenny Slate!))
  • Spike Jonze (loved Her, haven't seen anything else)
  • Ron Howard (I should see Rush)
  • Edgar Wright (wrote the screenplay for Antman, directed Scott Pilgram vs. The World and Baby Driver)
