  • Immediately get on disability
  • Start a blog about suddenly finding yourself disabled
  • Go on talking tours about making peace with losing a part
  • Get one of those really cool gazelle legs
  • Keep a journal about the experience and write books after the emotional fallout has been processed
  • Trick out my sweet new wheelchair
  • Get really good at crutches like when I was a kid and used to get hurt a lot
  • Make it my mission to live better than I did when I was two-legged
  • Let kids touch the nub (once it doesn't hurt anymore) so they won't be afraid of disabled people. Also to gross them out a little.
