• I was turned sometime in the middle of the Civil War- I turned Severen first, then Diamondback (I believe), and I’m not sure how Homer wound up with us (I didn’t turn him). I’m not sure about exact dates for the others, though I turned Severen during the “wild west” era (between 1865 and 1895)
  • Diamondback, Severen and I were all in a relationship together. Severen had a hard time adapting to the change, and early on he’d sleep on my chest or in the middle between me and Diamondback
  • We spent most of our time travelling, and only really stuck in one place if one of us was hurt- Severen had a hard time telling when the sun was going to rise for the first about twenty years, and he’d wind up with quite a few burns
  • Despite what that shit with Caleb might imply, Mae adjusted pretty quickly to her new life, and I’d started to think of her as a daughter. That’s part of the reason I was willing to be lenient about Caleb’s behavior
  • None of us really liked Caleb, and there were a few fights I had to break up between him and Severen. He was the least willing to deal with Caleb’s bullshit, understandably so
  • However Homer wound up with us, Diamondback treated him a lot like a son- it was a weird dynamic to figure out, since he was much older than he appeared and he didn’t want to be babied. He still did childish things, though
  • Severen picked up new patches for his jacket/chaps from people he killed, and Diamondback taught him how to sew them on. She and I would keep an eye out for patches he’d like too, as little gifts
  • Diamondback would help Severen style his hair, too- I’m fairly sure he tried out a few styles before settling on just letting it grow.
  • I remember wanting nothing more than to see Caleb burn for what he did to Severen. It was easy to keep myself detached in the moment, but I knew if I got my hands on him I would’ve taken my sweet time with that bastard.
  • Most of my other, smaller memories are just of spending time with Diamondback and Severen while we traveled. Kansas was about as far North as we ever got, and I’m pretty sure I had a pretty decent amount of cash stowed- Enough that we never had to worry about paying for motels/new clothes.
  • Severen’s spurs were his only memento from his human life- I’d known how to work leather and helped him repair the straps time and time again. The significance of giving one to Caleb wasn’t lost to me, considering how tense things had been between them before.
  • I have some memories of Severen acting a lot like an older brother to Mae- teasing her, et cetera. He was still very protective of Mae, as was I. She hadn’t been turned for long, and dealing with the strain of supporting Caleb could’ve easily killed her. I was torn between my desire to just rip the idiot to shreds or let him continue on living to avoid upsetting her. Though Homer turned her, he really hadn’t done much to help her adapt beyond teaching her the basics of feeding (again: childish, impulsive actions were common for him).
  • Diamondback was arguably the most lenient with Caleb, especially early on, but only because she believed Mae would wise up and give up on him before long.
