• 1: savored half a portion of my favorite martabak telor with my family as a new year celebration. ordered my friend's recommendation of the rose tteokbokki that i thought didn't exist in depok (now i know it does). it tasted really good. had ikan bakar with my father, just like old times, leaving only its bones and plates licked clean. this day consists of eating and eating only :')
  • 2: read the first ever update of love for sale 2 by kak ain (and cried over it up until morning). adis' return. she has to attend her classes tomorrow, so i did a lot of catching up as i will also be busy packing for the next few days.
  • 3: took oren to the vet out of worry and felt the utmost relief as the doctor said he was okay. had the longest conversation about moving out with mom and exchanged tips in the matter of so. she made me bakso goreng and bought me sate padang, too. ruby's release. woozi is crazy.
  • 4: finished working on my two essay submissions (and went through a lot, emotionally, doing so) for pelita muda. they turned out well, i think. i've never written anything about my homeland magetan before, and it was such a yearnful journey. i enjoyed collecting stories about the wonderful town from mom and dad as we ate breakfast together. watched pacific rim (2013) with adis.
  • 5: discovered bel's writing account and went crazy over her pieces, especially the one about drawing parallels over rooms and loved ones. spent a little time to catch up with kak dina in between packings only to realize that i've been missing her far more than i had imagined. she's amazing. bought menantea with kak risti out of curiosity. ate kue pancong.
  • 6: went out with fifi to a family's cafe for the last time before moving out. shared (and received) a whole fucking lot. i even got a farewell present... :( she always gives me more than i deserve, more than i am capable to give back. she's one of the strongest people i've ever met: i am grateful of her everyday. i met a lot of people at the cafe as well, most of them being dad's friends, including pakde haris. he gave me the contact of his bright and loving daughter, mbak karisa, whom i've only heard wonderful stories of. she's coming to bandung next month, or so i was told. i can't wait to meet her in person.
  • 7: did an interview for pelita muda and received so many lessons from iman beforehand despite me only asking him very few questions. he's always so excited to give a hand, so eager to help. i think i did okay.
  • 8: went strolling with mom and soaked up the best i could of the city i grew up in: jakarta. paid my highschool a visit and was very impressed by its adjustments. helped kak risti move out and went to senayan park afterwards. we ate so much there i skipped dinner. found my old diary while packing and cried. the first entry was on 2009 :( i can't believe so much time has passed.
  • 9: started the whole mudik journey. visited pakde sam's house in solo and ate a freshly-picked jeruk bali. he told us that his visions worsen, but he's glad that he could still see. such an inspiring man, he is. i spent a night in a heritage hotel right beside a traditional batik village, and the ambience was out of this world—it was like a time capsule.
  • 10: went to magetan (and deep down knew that it was going to be emotional, the ride and the air. it sure was). nyekar. eyang kakung's grave looked tidy and well. exchanged stories about him in the car with dad, most of them being silly stories about kakung while he was still a father and a man, alive. he was a funny guy, my dad had said. i believed him. i still do. i also paid telaga sarangan a visit, still as lovely and understanding as my 10-years-old self had perceived.
  • 11: explored jogja, the highlight of the day being ullen sentalu museum. there, i learned so much about the history of my own people and country; and of how little i knew and understood amidst its extensive branches of history. it rained pretty badly after. i broke my shoe.
  • 12: went to tebing breksi. it was beautiful. i took a ton of pictures with mom. met kak dina. she's so, so amazing. i had already known that she's a wonderful listener; everyone she talks to overflowing with words and words to share, but talking with her in person was so much more. i didn't even know that i was capable of pouring out tales (moreover mine) that easy with someone i'm meeting first time. the air was filled with stories the whole time—on the motorcycle ride, at the restaurant, the bajigur stall, the street of malioboro—everywhere. stories in every intersections, stories in every corner of the city's damp air. i will remember jogja as a land of dreams and countless spoken memories, both kak dina's and mine, and let jogja remember me as a girl who was happy.
  • 18: had adapted quite smoothly in living without my parents around. my house back in depok was calm and quiet due to the lack of people, but here in my kost, even the hallway is surrounded by human voices. went to braga with muthia and both of my parents, paid goodbye to them afterwards as they're heading back to jakarta this afternoon. the ride went well. i ate sushi with muthia for dinner.
  • 20: went out with mawla and ayis to orbital dago. it's a cafe that has an art space inside, and we were lucky enough to come across the creator while he's installing his works. i remember being so happy while conversing with my girl friends—they're so easy to love. received a tear-jerking handwritten letter from mawla. lent some books to her in return, one of them being pulang by leila chudori. i hope she likes the experience of reading it as much as i do. i can see similarities between her and lintang, now i realize.
  • 22: went around bandung using angkot for pelita muda. met new friends from across faculties.
  • 28: was visited by my parents. they brought a ton of both food and study supplies for me to rely on. i ate really well. shared and joked a lot with muthia and kaila, enjoying our long-awaited weekend night.
  • 29: supported my faculty in a soccer play against our deep-rooted rival. we lost, but we had a good time. i screamed and chanted so much i lost my voice for a good 30 minutes. walked from the field to a nearby cafe (which wasn't really near, to be honest. my legs hurt even now). ate really good food while sharing jokes and tenderness with my dearest friends. even the ride home was fun. i'm so grateful i experienced such contentment.
  • 30: made breakfast with gina by my side and received a piece of roti bantal that she just bought at pasar simpang. exchanged recommendations regarding music with iman and felt really seen, in a good way, doing so. studied a lot of calculus and started working on a piece of writing for a dear friend, too, even though it's still so far from finished.
  • 31: did a puasa ganti with muthia and kaila. we had our sahur as well as buka together, and i enjoyed every spoonful of meal as i was accompanied by my kind, loving friends through each and every bite.
