• Daily to-do:
    • Try to do something new and scary weekly (gym, yoga, group, see a show. whatever. socialize.)
    • Feel your aliveness as frequently as you remember. Sitting w/ that feeling inevitably dissolves bad feelings and makes your molecules feel like they're laughing.

  • start hobbies you've always been apprehensive about. just do it:
    • rock climbing.
    • racquetball.
    • see more shows.
    • join groups at Y for yoga and etc.
  • inspire yourself. you know what to do to move forward, and despite all else you will enact those steps. use suffering as your fuel and you will inspire yourself.
  • in the interests of self-growth: read way more than you do now, and read things both inside and outside your sphere of interest. read purely to grow.
  • turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream: give yourself until 30 to float around the world and see what sticks most to you. at 30 make a career choice.
  • one thing you know for sure: nothing makes you feel better than having a positive effect on the world around you. helping someone who needs it, smiling at someone who looks like they could use a smile. that is like pure mood fuel for you. seek that shit out.
  • Look on the bright side of things. I tell people all the time that being an optimist is a skill you can cultivate. In every situation, at all times, even if you feel like shit about the situation, force yourself to recognize at least one positive consequence. Car broke down? You'll get some good exercise, and some cool chats with Uber drivers. Etc etc. Force yourself to do this even when it isnt genuine. Even when you recognize consciously that's it's bullshit. Over time, you'll become a happier, more positive you than you are today.
