- Segway tour around Paris in the rain

- the Eiffel Tower tour with the Cooper/Cresta family who we were essentially stalking
- the Café Latin crowd (especially Jay) with the delicious Café crèmes
- meeting Will on the flight to Paris
- the lovely people at the Fat Tire Company (Phil, Justin, Frasier)
- lighting a candle at Notre-Dame
- the "mashed potatoes" at Semilla
- weirdly finding the Louvre a bit disappointing and too overcrowded
- discovering my favorite painting at the Musée d'Orsay and hunting to find the clock hidden at the back of the museum
- dinner at Frenchie Wine Bar with Sandra, her sister, and the perfect view
- the dog that posed for us while we were taking pictures of apartments
- eating my first macaron during my aunt's birthday dinner

- finding the most perfect apartments
- finding beautiful artwork at Vanves
- running across four lanes of moving traffic to hail a cab
- the crazy traffic in Paris and our equally crazy taxi drivers (especially the one who drove us to the Eiffel Tower and the one who hit on the woman in the car next to us)
- dreaming about a place for as long as I can remember and then seeing it and person and realizing it's more perfect than I could have ever imagined
- Restaurant de La Cordonnerie with Chef Hugo, Bliss, and Jeremie
- feeling like I finally belonged/fit in somewhere
- leaning out of the apartment window and listen to "Avril 14th" on repeat my last morning in Paris
- the constant parades and protests
- seeing the carousel by the Eiffel Tower in person that I had drawn from a photograph a few years ago
- shopping at the lovely booths along the Seine
- the delicious crêpes at La Crêperie des Pêcheurs
- coming back to California and feeling homesick (it is possible to be homesick for a place that's not even your home?)
