- leaf through one of the books from the pile by my bed
- sit on the desk
- look at the windows which are still floodlit
- imagine what people are doing at this very moment behind those windows
- imagine the battle that took place one hundred years ago at the place where my home stands
- hear the guns and tanks and agony screams
- feel the blood that percolated into the ground
- see the fire which embraced everything
- observe the lantern and the light it emanates
- dream of the snowflakes or raindrops which will move through it in a couple of months
- silently whisper some wise monologues in English
- or in Spanish
- or even in French
- but mainly in English with a brilliantly fake British accent
- learn poems by heart
- visit thousands of websites which are completely useless
- look at the moon
- try to count the craters
- imagine the dark side of it
- imagine it is a lover who looks at me all the time from the starry depths of heaven
- pray
- in Latin
- sometimes in Polish
- dream
- which can't be called neither proper dreaming nor daydreaming, so I guess it's just a nighttime dreaming with eyes wide open
- look at one of the old photos of Grandaddy, the one in which he's wearing an uniform
- imagine what he was thinking of
- consider his charm
