“The Third Charm” is a story of two people spanning a period of 12 years. From their college years to a more mature age of 32, will they find true love when they meet for the third time? In college, On Joon Yeong (Seo Kang Joon) was a smart but shy college student who met Lee Yeong Jae (Esom) on a blind date. Lee Yeong Jae (Esom) was an upbeat 20-year-old assistant hairdresser. She is not shy, the complete opposite of Oh Joon Yeong (Seo Kang Joon). Will they realize they're everything they've ever wanted during their on-again, off-again, twelve-year relationship? As the resume already says the main characters are total opposites. While On Joon Yeong is, over the course of 12 years, someone who is honest, shy, who doesn't like spicy food or action movies, and who would happily live in a rural and less crowded area, Lee Yeong Jae is an outgoing girl who becomes a woman dedicated to her career, who loves action movies and thinks that spicy food is the best way to get rid of the stress of everyday life, and who wants at all costs to live a busy life in a big city. But opposites attract and at the age of 20 the two young people meet and almost start a relationship, because on the first day of dating things go awry and the two end up moving away, despite having already begun to develop feelings for each other. Almost 7 years later, the two meet again, completely by chance, and now, maybe a little more mature, they have the opportunity to try to live, for real, the love that started years ago. But how good can true opposites be for each other? They say that love overcomes everything, but would love be able to overcome the fact that at a certain moment being together was no longer a reason for happiness, but for concern and anguish?

We always see the dramas saying that the first love never works out, but in the end the couple, at least the ones I've watched to date, always end up together somehow despite the difficulties. The Third Charm then, escapes this cliché. It's not a drama for the weak, because when exploring the real side of relationships and life, it makes us suffer a lot, I won't deny it, but it also allows us to reflect and learn from the story of each character. I only watched this k-drama because it was half shot in my country (Portugal) and to my surprise, Kang Joon had to speak Portuguese. My heart melted when I heard it. Honestly, I really liked the first part of the drama, but from the second half I hated it completely... The second half is basically melodrama. Unnecessary situations, which should be resolved in conversation... were only limited to crying and not talking about the rest of the drama. This was really boring and didn't build up the drama further. I confess I was a little disappointed with it.
