Oh Yeon Joo is a second-year cardiothoracic surgery resident. Her father, a famous comic book artist, suddenly disappears one day, and soon after, Yeon Joo herself is taken by a strange man, covered in blood, and ends up in another dimension. Kang Chul, the main character of the webtoon called W (written by Oh Sung Moo), is an Olympic gold medalist in shooting sport and a millionaire entrepreneur in search of his family's killer. When Yeon Joo ends up in Kang Chul's world, things start to get complicated. The story revolves around the fact that Yeon Joo manages to end up in a world completely different from hers, more precisely in the world created by her father, the world of the webtoon W, where Kang Chul lives and is the main character. Yeon Joo has no idea what happened, but she acts on her doctor's instincts when she sees Kang Chul bloodied on the roof of a building. It's even quite funny, because the right thing would be for the person to panic when seeing so much blood and a place completely different from where you were, but since she woke up in the same place and needed to help you, she did it without further questions. She realizes how weird things really are, though, when she returns to her own world and sees her face plastered across the webtoon, saving the main character just as she had. All of her actions and lines were projected into the story, and he couldn't be her father since he was still missing. From there Yeon Joo and Kang Chul have several more crazy encounters trying to figure out what's going on to have this collision between the two worlds. Kang Chul believes that she is the “key piece” in her life and Yeon Joo tries to figure out how and why she ended up in the webtoon and how to get out of it. The story is full of fun moments and they develop a very special and beautiful relationship. Kang Chul isn't the type to trust just anyone, yet he gives Yeon Joo the benefit of the doubt when, little by little, she gains his place by showing that she knows him better than he realizes.
What to say to the best k-drama in the universe and surroundings… The best fantasy / sci-fi drama, inspired by a webtoon and happened in two parallel worlds that can’t even confuse! It’s one of those dramas I can watch 935867348 times I’ll never get tired. Anyone who thinks that W is just romance and comedy is sorely mistaken. I lost count of how many moments I freaked out with the suspense they put around Kang Chul's family killer and the things that happened, or the most tense moments. In addition, there are heartbreaking scenes that made me cry and want to pause the drama to stop suffering, but at the same time wanting more because I love what I feel when the couple's problem is not "love triangles". As in Hwarang, in this one no matter how many times I watch it I’ll always cry in the same scenes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I forced my friends to watch this drama and they fell in love with it.
