Star Empire Girls / 스타제국걸즈 is a pre-debut group name of ARIAZ starting from September 2017. Since October 2018 they went by name: Empire Girls (엠파이어걸스).

On September 27 it was announced that Star Empire's trainees will participate in MixNine. Their names were revealed on October 29; Kim Yunji, Lee Dawon, Lee Sieun, Kang Sihyeon, Choi Jiyeon (Yeori), Jang Hyogyeong and Lee Ara.

Only Yunji, Sihyeon and Hyogyeong passed the audition. Hyogyeong made it into the final top9 and she placed 8th. Yunji and Sihyeon were eliminated on the 2nd round ‒ placed 36th and 29th.
Sieun and Ara left the company in the beginning of 2018.
On April 7, 2018 the trainees performed at a busking along with Star Empire's boy group Imfact. Two new trainees took part in the performance but werent officialy introduced.
The girls opened an instagram account on June 13, 2018.
After no activity since July 19, Star Empire uploaded a cover with 6 trainees on October 3 introducing one of the busking trainees Jo Jueun. On October 6 the company announced that all Star Empire Girls' SNS accounts will be open again.
In December, the girls had two busking performances at COEX Winter Festival. During the ment on December 23 Yunji announced the plan to debut in the beginning of 2019.
On April 1 the girls opened their individual Tik Tok accounts and started uploading various videos.
An article posted on June 18 revealed that the group will debut in August under a name "AriA's (아리아즈)". They would be a part of Star Empire's new sub label "Rising Star" with Jee Sunghwang as the CEO. (♡)
The group had a 3-episode variety show called "Empire Girls at the MT". The teaser aired on July 3.
In August and September they performed twice at TikTok Moment events. (♡)
On September 15 Rising Star announced that the girls will be debuting in October under a name ARIAZ (아리아즈).
