  • beauty and the beast (2017)
    • director: bill condon
    • ★★★☆☆; overall, it's a good musical. and that's it. the graphic part lacks a lot in this film though it gives you a warmth, yet nostalgic, feeling deep down in your heart (such as all disney films)
  • star wars: episode 1 - the phantom menace (1999)
    • director: george lucas
    • ★★★½☆; not the greatest 'star wars' film ever made, yet it's a great start for the hole prelude of the saga. it's cool but... eh, all at the same time.
  • pete's dragon (2016)
    • director: david lowery
    • ★★★★☆; this film is so cute it should won an award for it. it has some flaws but the cuteness overload definitely surpasses it. a great children's film, for sure.
  • the arrival (2016)
    • director: denis villeneuve
    • ★★★★★; oh. my. god. this film is one of the greatest i have >ever< watched. it's great, i just can't put in words how amazing this is... i ~kinda~ want to tattoo all the areas of my body with the 'heptapodish' symbols. i’ve just loved it.
  • sucker punch (2011)
    • director: zack snyder
    • ★★½☆☆; it's cool but it lacks so many important facts about the whole story... the soundtrack it's amazing and the fight scenes are the worst. it's cool, i guess.

february

  • i lost record. sorry

march

  • love, simon (2018)
    • director: greg berlanti
    • ★★★½☆; i was quite disappointed about this film. when i read “simon vs. the homo sapiens agenda” i felt amazing and came out of the closet to my family because of it. but the adaptation was kinda horrible if compared to the book; it’s a cute film, don’t get me wrong, it’s just too different from what i read.

april

  • bright (2017)
    • director: david ayer
    • ★★★☆☆; i just don’t know... it’s cool and has nice actors and a good plot but it’s just too clichè for me. it’s very predictable and this was bugging me out. this film is one of those you watch with your family on sunday afternoons, just to pass the time.
  • avengers: infinity war (2018)
    • director: anthony russo and joe russo
    • ★★★★½; well, well, well... i just love superheroes and i love every single movie marvel launches and, guess what, this one is no different. however, i’ve never cried in a cinema before but this film made me lay down on my bed and think happy thoughts to forgot my fictional grief. great movie though.

may

  • baby driver (2017)
    • director: edgar wright
    • ★★★★★; i didn’t expect a thriller to turn out so good as this one. the soundtrack is on point, the acting is on point and most importantly: >sky ferreira<. i’m in love with this film and it makes me want to learn how to drive as fast as possible so i can be as free as bonnie & clyde; but me being both, bonnie and clyde.
  • transformers: the last knight (2017)
    • director: michael bay
    • ★☆☆☆☆; everything is wrong with michael bay. the transformers whole saga it’s just turning into a new “fast & furious”. it’s bad, it has a >lot< of explosions and fake sparks, bad plot, bad ending and bad characters. i’m not even going to talk about how they sexualize women. it’s not worth watching; one star for anthony hopkins.
  • custody (2016)
    • director: james lapine
    • ★★★½☆; this film is pretty cool and has viola davis acting on it. it shows how law can work in favour of those who are men, white and rich. i liked because it shows the struggles of powerful women in different ways.
  • fahrenheit 451 (2018)
    • director: ramin bahrani
    • ★★★☆☆; this movie had everything to enter my favourites ones but it disappointed me. the special effects where almost none or bad and i felt a huge sensation of missing information, i didn’t read the book, yet i felt this in a huge scale. however, it’s cool by the end of it.
  • the princess diaries (2001)
    • director: garry marshall
    • ★★★★★; i just love this film so much!! i love everything about mia, the environment she’s in, her conflicts and lilly is just too relatable for me. i love the princess diaries since i first watched it.
  • the dark tower (2017)
    • director: nikolaj arcelf
    • ★★½☆☆; quoting jeffrey m. anderson “based on stephen king’s novels, this sludgy science fiction/ fantasy dud reduces king’s epic vision to a series of clichés, surrounded by lazy dialogue and half-baked visual effects.”
  • re-watched “avengers: infinity war” because it was my birthday (same thoughts plus, i cried the samer or even harder this time because of birthday feelings)

june

  • black panther (2018)
    • director: ryan coogler
    • ★★★★☆; this is also a re-watch but i watched it on february so... this film is very fun and enjoyable. the characters, looks, and soundtrack are on point and it’s so empowering for both women and people of colour that just warms my heart. loved it very much (thanks for the masterpiece kendrick + sza)
  • (500) days of summer (2009)
    • director: marc webb
    • ★★★★★; this is definitely going to ascend into my favourites’ list. this film has everything done perfectly and i just couldn’t love more how the end had that kind of wholesomeness in it. i have a lot to say about this one but i won’t, i’ll say just four: 1- summer is not a bitch; 2- tom was just new to love; 3- alison is the best character by far; 4- can we just agree that “sweet disposition” is the best song ever made?
  • everything, everything (2017)
    • director: stella maghie
    • ★★★★☆; this tick flick is so cute and as the movie reviewed above it made me re-think my decision of not doing architecture. i see a lot of myself on maddie and it sucks to think that you’re an astronaut abandoned in open space. the only problem with this film is her mom being so sweet and everything. loved the soundtrack though.

july

  • also lost record, sorry

august

  • it (2017)
    • director: andy muschietti
    • ★★★★★; this film is actually pretty great. i hate horror films in general ‘cause i’m very much scared (thank you) yet this one kept entertained and anxious – in a good way – until the very last minute. even the jumpscares are cool. probably entering my favourites.
  • re-watched spirited away: (come on, it’s my favourite film and i was kinda depressed so i needed this so so so much. this film is basically the greatest).
  • your name. (2016)
    • director: makoto shinkai
    • ★★★★★; i just love everything about kimi no na wa. like literally everything, soundtrack, animation, plot, everything. i think this even goes equal to spirited away on my favourites charts! i’ll search this on blu-ray so i can have it. loved it so much.

october:

  • lost record... one more time.

november:

  • lost record, again. sorry lol.

december:

  • okja (2017)
    • director: bong joon ho
    • ★★★★★; watching “okja” should be obligatory. this film is a masterpiece, it associate entertainment with awareness, and that is — hands down — a-ma-zing. tilda swinton, as graceful as always. i’ll stop eating meat for sure now.
