I forgot how much I actually loved these books...well, more accurately, how much I love them. Present tense.

Things I wish:

• That they would make a TV show out of this series
• It would:
  • a) last like, at least 8 seasons
  • b) be amazing
• That Meg Cabot would write some more of them because everybody loves Mia

THE CHARACTERS, as have been living in my head over the years:

• Mia Thermopolis: Tbh I have such a vivid image of her of my own that I don't think I can come up with an accurate casting for her in real life.
• Michael Moscovitz: Robert Schwartzman as high school and college Michael in books 1-8 (thanks, movies), Michiel Huisman as post-Japan Michael in books 9-11
• Lilly Moscovitz: Heather Matarazzo, thanks to the movies (but with square frame glasses)
• Tina Hakim Baba: Tanisha Mukherjee, young
• Boris Pelkowski: William Moseley, with chubbier cheeks and a retainer in books 1-5, with a really short haircut in books 6-10, apparently with purple hair in book 11
• Clarisse Renaldo: Julie Andrews, except with worse hair, tattooed eyeliner, and a French accent
• Helen Thermopolis: Caroline Goodall, also thanks to movies
• Frank Gianini: Chris Pratt
• Phillipe Renaldo: Ben Kingsley, bald, and if he were a little fatter and had a large-ish dark brown beard.
• Shameeka Taylor: Tiffany Boone
• Perin Thomas: Ellen Page, with a pixie cut
• Ling Su Wong: Lee Ji-eun
• Lana Weinberger: Brittany Snow, possibly Jamie Lynn Spears
• Trisha Hayes: Nicole Fiscella
• Lars van der Hooten: Vin Diesel, but always with sunglasses.
• J.P. Reynolds-Abernathy IV: Shane Harper, but blond
• Kenneth Showalter: Link Neal, with lighter and shorter hair
• Dr. Knutz: Professor Archimedes Q. Porter, dressed like Mr. Laritate, and spewing just as much shit about horses and the wild west

Reasons I love this series:

• Mia is a total spaz
• Michael is completely hot
• "Oh my God."
• Lars is one of those people who, once you get really engrossed in reading, you totally forget is constantly there, and then Mia mentions him almost out of the blue and I don't know why but I always find the timing to be hilarious
• Something else I find entirely hilarious are Mia's feelings toward Boris, which usually consist of:
  • "Ew."
  • "Who even does that? Except Boris. But excuse me, he's BORIS."
  • Mouth breather
  • Sweater tucker-inner
• Lana-turned-friend
  • Put It In My Candyhole
• BOOK 11 JUST CAME OUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND I LITERALLY READ IT WITHIN ONE EVENING
• Ugh these books just never get old
