• Extra-large eggs --> second favorite, so cheap, easy, and nutritious, I get this every week, which means I hardly ever get other things
  • Ground turkey --> absolute favorite, kind of expensive, good in everything
  • Chicken drumstick --> cheaper than other cuts, requires brine, esp good baked
  • Firm tofu --> kind of expensive, good for pan-fries
  • Silken tofu --> kind of expensive, good for pan-fries
  • Frozen white fish, in pieces or steaks (tilapia, etc) --> kind of expensive, good for pan-fries
  • Chicken breast --> kind of expensive, requires brine
  • Chicken thigh --> cheap, requires brine, good baked
  • Whole chicken --> cheap, requires brine, good baked
  • Various cuts of beef, pork, or sausage, if on sale --> tasty, but so expensive that I only use a couple slices diced in pan-fries or pasta sauce for flavor like bacon
