THIS BOOK. IS SO DAMN GOOD. i know it was published like last year in may but im in need of a sequel asap because of how nice the writing the pace and the character writing is. there is some parts that are lacking ofc, but generally this was such a fun read which is also very understandable. the writing is clear and the representation of queer muslims in this book is just awesome, as well as the types of problems that media nowadays dont show as much like biphobia and islamphobia. I LOVE YOU Adiba Jaigirdar!!!! i'm gonna go read her other book "the henna wars" soon because im just IN LOVE with her writing <3 she has another book coming out soon in december 2022 so im defo gonna read that too!

so the book title basically explains the whole plot of the book. two characters named hani and ishu fake date for their own personal reasons. one needing to become head girl and one needing a fake girlfriend to "prove" to her friends that shes bisexual. honestly the character writing is nicely done especially ishu's sister i love how its told that she used to be competitive and didnt like ishu a lot but as you progress through the story shes an absolute loving character shes one of my fav ESPECIALLY WHEN she got revenge on aisling for ishu and even flew from the other side just to comfort ishu when aisling blamed her for (spoilersss) SHES SO COOL OMG. and hani's parents are the cutest and probs one of the best parents ive ever seen in all the media i've read/watched. the writing is SO GOOD i can literally remembered what happen from start to finish but im not gonna spoil much. i felt like the end was rushed a bit? why are endings so rushed authors and writers pls take your time istg i would rather wait like 5 more years just for a nicely written ending thats not rushed and actually makes sense STOP RUSHING THEM. at the end they got together for reals and thats it. like what. i want...more? i want them to go on dates? i want them to tell their parents? i want them openly dating in school? AND WHAT ABOUT AISLING I WANTED TO SEE HER GET HUMILIATED BRO I WANTED HER TO CRY ABSOLUTE TEARS OR SOME SHIT. i mean she did but i want more. and plus how is their life at school gonna be like especially after ishu getting blamed and hani standing up for the so called "cheater" likeee.... there were definitely more to be said but thats fine cause the rest of the book is nicely paced.

PLEASE READ THIS. i literally see NO ONE ELSE READING THIS BOOK but it deserves it sm. one of my favs literally <3 9/10 it would've gotten a 10 if the ending wasn't poorly rushed. but still, this was a fun read that left me both squealing and devastating. some scenes are so CUTE THOUGH like their first kiss omgogmg first kiss and ishu respecting hani's boundaries LIKE YES CONSENT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love this book sm. expect more book rants btw!
