LOVEEE HEARTSTOPPER SM! i read the graphic novel way back on june 2021 and watched the show a week ago, the show had some flaws about it but regardless of it i really really enjoyed it! the cast and the way they potray some scenes are super good, my absolute favorite has to be the snow scene. in the graphic novel it wasnt that big of a deal but the show definitely nailed it. the soundtrack is the best and suits it, i love the little leaf and heart doodles that appear on the cute scenes! one thing i dont understand was how people could hate the actors ESPECIALLY joe locke, like honestly, i love him a lot and thought it was perfect for the role of charlie! plus, alice oseman herself literally chose the actors for the characters she made. those people who criticize joe locke, who are they to do that? OTHER THAN THAT, LIKE I SAID, the way they potray some scenes are the best!!!!! like nick researching more about his sexuality and their kiss at the party. THEYRE SO CUTEEEEE!!!! im not so excited for season two other than the paris trip because its gonna be about charlie's eating disorder and mental issues. something about heartstopper just sparked to me, its one of the best things ive ever read and watched! i love alice oseman so much and i plan to read all of her books now because of heartstopper! i've already read nick and charlie, and im starting solitaire soon since im so in love with tori.

like what i mentioned above, the show had its flaws. like the beach scene, something about it felt awkward from the graphic novel. like the way kit connor ran up to the sea and shouted "i love charlie spring in a romantic way not just a friend way!" DONT GET ME WRONG, i love that scene a lot, but i felt like it was way better in the graphic novel then in the show. since i literally cried at that part when reading it but when watching it, i couldnt help but look away. there are scenes where they didnt potray it as well as the others, not to mention the amount of unneccessary moments inside the show that wasnt even inside the graphic novel? like elle outing nick and charlie's relationship to tao, tao fighting with harry and ben appearing at the movie theatre. one thing that i felt was really neccessary and wasnt in the graphic novel was the scenes with imogen. sure, i hated her at first, but i knew her purpose in the show and it was to make nick realize that he really likes charlie. i dont get how people can continue to hate her after she literally backed away from nick after seeing how devoted he was to charlie. she saw him HOLDING HANDS with charlie and SMILED. imogen truly has my heart and i wish to see her in season two hyping up nick :) also, isaac is super cute. i miss aled a lot but isaac is such a good character and the books he read in the show <3 i still really miss aled, i wish they could at least show charlie texting aled or something, a mention of him in the show wouldnt hurt. i didnt like the aled erasure. but theres a possibility he will get his own show based of his book 'radio silence' which i will also be reading soon, so im looking forward to it!!!

for the show, im giving it a 8.5/10 meanwhile for the graphic novel definitely a 10/10. another thing about the show that really makes me happy was the amount of screentime the other couples got (elle and tao, tara and darcy) it definitely was a lot more than in the graphic novel. but to me, i felt like they made tao annoying in the show even though he was just being really protective over charlie and was scared to lose him. the show is really good, but nothing can be compared to the graphic novel <3 PLEASE GIVE HEARTSTOPPER A GO! the storyline is just perfection and so many moments are super cute, they made me giggle and blush multiple times. they are my current hyperfixation for a reason guys ;)
