- The first sounds of the movie, really setting the tone of what kind of culture this film is.
- I love the family photo of her mom brushing Mei's hair brushing a doll's hair. The fact that it's in a vintage old camera style really captures the timeline of this story.
- Mei mentioning that her parents are supreme beings in the movie, and sacrificed so much to put a roof over your head. Makes me remember how hard they work and how it turns into guilt for my own actions. They did so much so it feels like I should be grateful and owe them back.
- The karaoke photo, vintage, connection of love as a baby
- The you forget to honor yourself really sets in stone that this is a movie about balancing finding yourself and honoring your parents and their connection with you.
- THAT SOUND when Mei lands on her feet.! And then the soundtrack that proceeds it.
- Her outfit with the fuzzy plastic button up caridian with the used feel. The big clips and chunky hairstyle, the fucking buckles across the backpack of her chest and the dorky round metal glasses because it's probably one of the simplest and cheapest glasses at the store. A single unbuttoned on the bottom meaning she buttons top to bottom and probably ran out of time and had no patience.

- Me seeing her being confidently dorky, loud and proud makes me emotional. This would have been my ideal 13 year old self. Looking back, i think it would have been great if I would have proudly been able to speak my mind and have drive like this. OHH also her fucking grey and pink shoes! the pink leggings!
- The title, her little moles and her dorky actions, confident and proud
- When she assembled her friends at the drab school and her friends are the most colorful, loud and proud ones. The fact that she has a band of gals to call her own family basically, same dorks and nerds. The fact that i can recognize any of these three as people I know esp miram, nerdy queer kid.

- Priya's sticker graphics, so recognizable to me, like OH i remember this was something I would have gravitated to or knew people who did.
- Abby being so funky funny and extreme.
- Their lil friendship bracelets. One representing each color and each of them.
- Mirams, like arch animation when she says "so ready"
- Again, unapologetically dorky, esp with the french
- Fucking love the shot her playing the flute in the center of the class. The minor spotlight, her being the most saturated, the chairs around her.
- The way she stole the basketball from Tyler. And the way it bounced off the basketball backing
- When her and her friends walk briskly out after school, tracking shot, and I love the way her friends trail behind her and she's looking at the screen/camera
