im generally quite open to anything or at least willing to give it a try unless it's stuff i avoid/do not condone; that said, i am always weak for:

• coming-of-age stories
• really great mentor-mentee dynamics or supportive friendship/family relationships
• well-written melodrama
• characters w flaws and insecurities that develop over time, organically

stuff i dislike/avoid/do not condone etc.

• stuff that glorifies fascism (there's quite a lot of anime like this lmao;;;)
• stuff that whitewashes history (or presents revisionist history)
• incest/child porn/pedophilia
• non-con, dubious consent being romanticized
• extreme violence/shocking stuff for the sake of shock and is never resolved properly
