  • met up with King Grohl (old bugbear), surrendered to us. offered him to live in the Manor.
  • Injured Gundren, safe in Manor.
    • Sildar joined, we updated him on everything.

TO DO

  • Potions, Bella saying goodbye to Karp.
  • Gundren is awake!
    • Memory is foggy.
    • Bella launches into a tale of what we've been up to, how we found him. "You killed a dragon?"
    • Kratlyn asks Gundren what all this about - Wave Echo Cave, why he was ambushed.
    • Gundren and brothers found entrance to cave, searching for years. 500y ago, was open and Forge of Spells was accessible. area used to be prosperous. Gundren/bros weren't quiet abt finding it, and others were interested. Was taken for info.
    • Spider is in Cave "as we speak." Gundren's bros were at entrance, getting ready to explore. he was getting supplies from Neverwinter.
    • trouble exploring depths, Gundren said he had secrets to convince them to keep him alive.
  • We need the Forge to Wynne's mother - other than that, we have little use.
    • Gundren wants to open the Forge, for all. Wynne may stay behind to enchant.
  • In Cave, ambient magic. Undead presence, within. Poisonous creatures, ghosts.
  • Nezznar, Black Spider, drow. Spies were on Gundren, that's how he knows of the cave. Working with bugbears.
  • A day's travel to Wave Echo Cave - on foot.
    • Endless hills, a lot of wildlife. Herds of deer, rabbits, birds. In the afternoon, we get close. It's in a valley at the base of the Sword Mountains.
  • We arrive at Wave Echo cave, and stealth up. Seems to be no guards at the front.
    • Thardim, Gundren's brother. Multi stab wounds, dead for at least a week. (One more brother MIA)
    • Boots, carved with magical glyphs. Kratlyn can't figure it out, Wynne and Barb take the boots.
    • Boots of Striding and Speeding
      • long jump = 19 feet normally, 57 feet with boots. standing jump = 7 feet normally, 21 feet with boots.

Barb is within 30ft of Kratlyn, 1d4 "add the number rolled to an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw it makes." Once per turn.

  • Passageways like spiderwebs, excavated.
  • Chirpy slides down the 20ft decline, into Bella and Barb's waiting arms. (DC was 20, Bella got 20, Barb 24)
  • We continue on, following passage ways until we hit a door. Three ghouls inside, kill them quickly.
  • Green flaming skull. fireballs TF out of us in the hallway, Chirpy unconscious.
    • Water channel, water wheel, smth else???
  • we just barely killed the green flaming skull, (Flameskull) - but then something was said about it coming back. we were talking about putting it into the forge???
