• BE READY TO RUN, GRAB WYNNE AND GTFO
• potion of climbing, will ask wynne for a signal.

• > saw people in dragon masks and cultist robes. assumed worship.
• > magical war, caused plant life in the area to mutate. mean plants.
• barb knows something about wynne and a "deal," she has no idea what it is, what it means, but is concerned and scared. she will likely be on high alert.
  • barb is going to freak out when wynne sacrifices. she's going to try everything in her ability to save him. will be upset, won't understand why (she would do the same but everyone else... matters more than her)
• before dragon, be careful - don't expend resources. try to get a short rest beforehand.
• LAST ON: Meal with Eyezak, Sildar, the elf guy knows
  • we "encouraging dragon to leave area" to learn more about Cragmore (goblins or smth?)
  • Old tree, middle of settlement, stone tower...

• Barb has Colonel Buhgawky in her pack?!
• Kratlyn investigates cottages - plants with faces, watching as they approach
  • looking for druid
• Barb waves, and it doesn't respond. Bella pokes it, and it feels warm, sways. We move further on, and they are closer when we look back.
  • Barb walks up, and asks if they need help. No response. Needle sharp teeth, bark tongue.
  • They just keep closing in. Barb tosses meat over them and one snaps it up, just swallows it. They close in more and more, and Barb tosses more AWAY from the group - three split off. Bella shoots one.
• Empty eyes, hissing sounds. Sounds like wind through trees.

Initiative !! for the plant things !!

• Bella kills two, Barb kills one and nat 1's the second - gets 1 dmg from a splinter.
  • Emma steals a kill from Wynne. Kratlyn holds their turn. Wynne steals Emma's kill.
• We start investigating the buildings. First is a tavern/inn - inside are corpses. They're old, but still have flesh. Putrid, but not skeletons yet.
• Bella finds a cache of some sort - tinkers tools and a book.

    • Old, old. Planar weakened. Gods disappeared and came back without explanation. Wherever the Empire went, they conquered. After the sundering, they vanished. Rumors: perhaps they ascended, seeking new challenges. Or left magical relic for worthy recipient to their path.

  • A gun. literally a fucking gun. Wynne gets a nat 20 on investigation. it "fires projectiles."
• Small house, better condition. Farmhouse, swallowed by trees.
  • Knock on door, well fortified house. A gaunt human answers, white beard.
    • Reidoth answers, something Sildar said we'd be coming. has been there 3 years. was wanderer.
    • Inside: mostly bare living quarters. "You gonna deal with the dragon problem."
    • large spiders. two more, apparently.
• Venomfang, she. The tower in the center of town.
  • Cultists. "Cult of the Dragon." Forge alliance with any dragon. she hasn't accepted the cult.
  • plants corrupted by wild magic in the area. apparently stay dead.
• where spider nests, Reidoth glimpsed a dead person - may have something to help us. lets us stay with him, turns into squirrel and leaves to give us privacy.

Wynne........

• sits cross legged, focusing on sword. black energy flows off of sword, and encases Wynne. we all notice.
• 60ft of Emma, +1 AC AND saving throws, resistance to ALL damage (Warding Bond, lvl 2)
• white scars around the neck, scales gone. it's surprised we're not there to worships. asks if we want to reconsider, and then initiative.
  • dragon immediately got a nat 20 on something?? Kratlyn cries out, says it's playing with us.
  • wynne tells us all to get out, we retreat, and he tries fireball. it doesn't work. "burn bitch"
  • we go back in, and fight a bit more.
  • it leaves the tower, and we meet it outside.
  • failed grapples, all over by barb.
  • things look super bad, but Barb hears growling behind her... "is that...?" it is!
  • wolf pack appears!!! they surround dragon, ripping and giving Barb advantage.
  • it does a ton of damage to Wynne, and Emma. Barb tries to take damage for Wynne, but bc of the bond, Emma will be hurt more. So Emma takes it all, and goes down.
  • Dragon goes to leave, knowing the battle is lost. Barb and Pack take reactions, and KILL IT.
  • Barb hits, reckless, and immediately runs to Emma.
  • before Barb can feed her a potion, Kratlyn heals her. Barb still forces the potion. Emma is dramatic. asks if we loot level 4 from the dragon.
• we do, in fact, loot level 4 from the dragon.
