it was a wild ride that day, waking up at six am and not being able to skip serendipity because i was scared of the sound. man, i knew this album was gonna be something else, but oh well. i'll save my opinions for the end.
- intro: serendipity(sus)
- first of all, let's talk visuals. jimin fucking killed this video, the colour scheme was amazing and the stars, the moon and everything was SO pleasing. i was in heaven and everytime i remember watching it for the first time, i get soft. it was an experience.
- when i say that i want do die while listening to this song-
- jimin's range is SO on point like lil boy killed it right from the start. this voice is the most calming and goes so well with this instrumental, don't even get me started. he fits the concept as well, he's come a long way and has learned to love himself. i'm proud.
- the instrumental is just- one of my favourite things ever. it flows so well, and it's got such a namjoon vibe. i'll really like this if he goes with it for his new mixtape. anyway, not the point. the bass was Incredible and sent me off the edge, this song is just way too pretty. such a good intro. composition was so cute as well!
- namjoon, what a man. he wrote these lyrics and put so much thought into them, i can feel his hard work. i love his lyrics, these ones where so cute and vulnerable, just how i like them. bless him, his lyrics, his mind and his vocal guide of this song, i know it all means a lot to him.
- production struck me from the very first listen, the way it went So Well with the video. the whole stars, rain and sound effects thing - i can't listen to the song without thinking of the video. props to whoever produced this, they did such an amazing work. this must be what it feels like to be in heaven.
- dna
- ok so. not my favourite title track by them. i was way more interested in the choreo, i'm not That Fond on edm sounds after all, and it's not like i had high expectatives, it's just that i didn't wanted to think of what the title track would be after what spring day and blood, sweat and tears (i don't claim not today but oh well) were.
- first of all, whoever decided that taehyung would start the song: thank you so much. it's just what i neded, his voice was So Smooth what a king. also, the bridge, that was also an intelligent decision. get my man the praise he deserves.
- taehyung and jungkook's little choreo part: my taekook ass was clapping. i was So happy you can't even understand
- hoseok did an amazing job with this choreo, let him have his recognition. they all did amazing!!!! it's such a good choreo
- lyrics could've been better though. i mean, i love me a good love song, or a tempting hoe anthem (i'm still not over how good bs&t was), and this one is Alright but not up there, u know what i mean? i hope u do
- the whistle and the guitar were interesting but it all throws you off because of the edm breakdown. it's all a mess the first time you listen, and i didn't really liked that. it's a bop, yes, but not my usual cup of tea
- production popped, tho. would've loved to see yoongi's name as well, but hey, man's busy producing more stuff. the production is good enough to make you not stop listening to it
- seokjin having two parts?? bless big hit they're finally doing things right
- i don't think i'm that fond of jeongguk rapping in this one ???? like, it was just a plain no from me. there's so much stuff happening on this song, why'd they have to ad even more shit to it?
- whatever i really liked the visual aspect of this, the outro was cute because you could hear hoseok's smile in the little "lalala"s and that was great. the choreo was stunning, but they could've gone for another kind of sound
- best of me
- putting aside the fact that the ch*insmokers were involved in producing this and that it kind of sounds like something they would work on, this song holds such a deep meaning for me. i can't even begin to explain, but this song makes me feel so happy and warm. it's a weird feeling, specially on hoseok's verse, when he sings the little "who got the best of me?" part. it's pride to its fullest.
- jeongguk and jimin starting off this was amazing, plus the amazing backing vocals, i was stunned. probably one of my favourites pre-chorus in the whole album, it's just so touching. seokjin's and taehyung's voices can make wonders.
- the beat drop is Nice because it goes really smoothly, and gets you grooving lightly, wich is awesome + the minimalist lyrics for the chorus, it's like a catch. i never stop singing this song because it's just so easy to do so
- the sea reference in namjoon's verse. just shut the fuck up. i'm still not over it
- yoongi's verse is lyrically beautiful, and i can really feel his gratefulness. he's such a lovely kid, i adore him and i hope he never gives music up.
- jimin doing The Most out there with his little section in the second chorus
- the breakdown in the chorus is so satisfying, jimin and guk's voices are like heaven. the contrast between them and hoseok's is funny but Important. they're trying to convey the message in all the ways they can
- hoseok's verse and the whole "oh"s chorus always gets me emotional, this is a whole song !!! stop sleeping on it just because it was partly made by some dumb americans. enjoy it !!!! it's important !!!
- not really my favourite instrumental/composition because it's kind of plain and basic, but the production never fails to make me feel butterflies on my stomach ok i'm done
- dimple
- ok so vocal line came through and i've got so much shit to say about this song
- the very first time i listened to this song, i thought that i had listened to the instrumental from the highlight reels (wich, to this day, i still think that they're hiding there, lost somewhere in between the production layers) and i lost my shit. i said, this is gonna be my favourite song, there's no way they can top this. truth is, not it's probably my least fave one (or it's really down there, sorry not sorry) and it makes me MAD because this also happened with lost, and i really wanna appreciate the vocal line and their bops but there's something within me that doesn't. i'm sorry. this is still a bop tho
- the lyrics are cute as fuck, and namjoon did a great job in them. i know it sounds kind of sarcastic but i really do like them :((( i have one dimple so it's Nice listening to this
- production-wise, holy shit. it's really well done, the vibe is so soft and angelical, yet it stands out. the transitions are really smooth, specially into and out of the chorus, and also in the bridge.
- seokjin was doing the most out there, i couldn't ever get tired of his voice. specially his line "was it a mistake from an angel? or was it a deep kiss?" AAAAAA holy SHIT and they way he sings it ??? damn I LOVE THAT PART his voice is so stable and i hate him. what a man
- taehyung's voice was also really smooth in this one ??? (but once again, when is it not?) it did things to me alright like NAH SON you can't just go and sing like that. i'm pleased
- jeongguk out there doing really nice adlibs and jimin staying in that lovely range that's so nice, and i adored their parts, but tae and jin won this song. this is theirs.
- well, the more i listen to this song, the less i can hear the highlight reels parts that i Swore that were there, but still, i love this instrumental. i feel like there's something off with the composition, and that's why i have it down there in my rank. i think it's something about the little drop in the chorus as well ??? how could we ever know ???
- STILL once again i LOVE this vibe and i love their voices they did an amazing job
- pied piper
- oh boy
- first off, production: HOLY FUCKING SHIT DID THEY POPPED- the transition from the first chorus into the next section, HOLY SHIT,i lost it. the little edm elements gave it such a good vibe. it's so seductive and well-done. i'm in love with the production of this song.
- lyrics-wise, i feel like the hole song is on another level, except for namjoon's verse. like, it was a risk, and he really thought about them, but they feel off. still, they give the song the context they have, withouth them, it wouldn't be the #1 roast your fans song
- still, VERY seductive sounding and written. the instrumental, that flute, oh boy. i lose my shit, even to that bass. the composition is so sick as well, it makes me wanna do little jumps on the chorus (just as i imagine the pied piper would do). such a bop, they went off
- onto the vocals, SEOKJIN AND TAEHYUNG ???? I'LL CLAIM THOSE BOYS. the first pre-chorus sent me to heaven and all the way back to hell, i stil can't believe their voices did that. such a good range
- talking about ranges, is there something jimin can't sing? any other voice singing that first chorus would annoy me, i know that for sure, but he just makes it sound so effortless. i can't stand his ass.
- i just keep on thinking about all of the innuendos on the chorus and oh my god i can't believe this is an actual song they released
- that little section in the bridge, the one with the crazy harmony on the background ??? it reminds me of something taht ed sheeran would include into his songs ??? what the actual fuck
- such a good song i won't ever get tired of talking about it
- skit: billboard music awards speech
- this can choke i'm MAD because it should've been the MAMA speech but naaah let's give the americans what they want this is what this whole album was about and it makes me MAD
- the whole "we don't care about out success in america" thing is bullshit, i don't understand why they'd put this, a BILLBOARD SPEECH (although yeah, alright it's fucking billboard, it's huge) but not the daesang one. they worked their asses off to get those awards, the billboard one was on the fanbase.
- anyway namjoon's voice talking in english am i right
- i think that it was cute that he decided to give us a clue before the comeback. he's so thoughtful and i adore him. he deserves all the appreciation in the world
- stan bts stan real dedication
- mic drop
- RAP LINE CAME THROUGH AND SNATCHED WIGS
- the live performanes of this are always so damn lit like DAMN dance line goes off, rap line goes off, seokjin and taehyung actually go off in the last section, it's such a party
- production is SO on point, it's like they've brought back the old bangtan sound but they remaster it to make it sound 2017. it's just that good, clean and agressive. we love a bop!
- hoseok starting off the song was something sent from heaven. his verse (all of his verses in this album, actually) is (are) so legendary. props to my man.
- props to them for actualy writing this song and not giving a fuck. they deserve all the recognition they're getting now, they worked their asses off for it
- the instrumental is so lit maaaan such a good song and the composition is also so lit this whole song is just Too Lit
- i'd sell my soul to satan to watch this live and watch them go off right in front of my eyes
- go go
- seokjin and hoseok own this song, i love this so fucking much it makes me laugh everytime
- the composition has so many changes and the instrumental is so fun and lit, we love a society-is-shit-and-we're-aware-of-it bop. the flute keeps on doing it for me, and how catchy it is. all bow down to korea's new national anthem
- yoongi's little section in the first verses i LOVE that man and his voice
- pre-chorus matters, seokjin and jeongguk did that. seokjin saying "do you want some?" !!!! yes sir, i'd love some. please give me some
- the wordplay between dollar and dallyeo WHO CAME UP WITH THAT SHIT THAT'S SOME GOOD STUFF RIGHT THERE
- the lyrics and the way they sing it it's such a mock of today's society and i love that. they're roasting youth and the way we live, what a concept !!!
- a catchy bop i can't believe they did that also another song i'd die to witness live. the "gominboda go go" section is gonna stay stuck in my head for another two weeks if you'll excuse me i'll finish this
- outro: her(sus)
- when i first listened to this, i thought that it had been namjoon all along, the one who had written, produced and composed this entire thing. it had such a him vibe, so lovely and gentle. yoongi went off with this one, the beat is so catchy and it's so old school. i love him and this song so much
- the intro of the song got me SOOO confused and emotional i was like NOOO we gonna get a ballad shut up AND THEN that drop happens and it's like whalien 52 and rain all over again and oh my god do i love this song
- the lyrics are so thoughtful and i can relate to them so much oh my god :((( i love this song my second fave off this album. yoongi's verse was so intense, like, boy, what do you mean you'd put on a mask for a lover? sigh, this goes kind of against the whole "love yourself" concept but i'm alright because i love this song and no one will change that
- the composition and the instrumental mean so much to me, it's one of my favourite types of songs, and the fact that yoongi produced it. i'm so proud, once again. that cheeky piano and the little beat, god, i live for that
- the production is so nice and also has that old school vibe, i really want them to keep this sound up all the damn time. hoseok's rap fitted so well because it's the style he does better, and oh god, please give me more songs like this one, i deserve it. clean production, lovely sound and amazing vocals.
- vocals, what a ride. I THOUGHT THAT SEOKJIN WAS THE ONE SINGING THE LAST PART, RIGHT AFTER HOSEOK'S VERSE BUT IT WAS ONLY HIM ??? WHAT THE FUCK ??? jin is probably sampled down there in the background, but HOLY SHIT, i love it when they all sing. their voices are lovely. yoongi's little "laaaa laaa" right before his verse was the cutest thing, and the way namjoon mispronounced the "tear" at the end of the chorus just to match the "her" it made me so mad at first but now it makes me SO happy
- this is such a good song i'm never gonna get tired of it :(
- sea(SUS)
- this has to be one of their best songs, i'm not joking. i'm so happy namjoon could put this one there, a king of composing, producing and writing.
- the first time i listened to this song, i didn't wanted it to end. it felt like such a dream-state, so far away from all my stresses and worries, so far away from all the evil in the world and all the things that were bad in that moment. i'm so thankful for this song, it's just simply relaxing and beautiful
- i couldn't ever choose one verse out of this one to be my favourite one, i love all of them way too much. they poured their emotions out and gave us hope for the future.
- the guitar and the little beat give me so much life. this instrumental goes so well with the meaning and the vibe of this one.
- i don't think i'll be able to put into words how much i love sea and how much i love namjoon fuck it
- the production is so lovely, chill and relaxing. i wanna live inside of this song forever
- taehyung's voice was standing out so much, as usual, but this one gets me. his lines were so good. also, jeongguk was doing the most with his adlibs. props to seokjin and jimin as well, for giving us even more hope with their gorgeous voices.
- this is the best song off this album and whoever says otherwise can fight me.
to sum up, i think this was a good album. very solid, very american-oriented, very contemporary-sounding and beautifully produced, composed and written. this is not my favourite mini album by them, hyyh pt. 2 is way too up there for this one to even reach, but the way it made me feel was an incredible experience. i love them, their hardwork and all they did for this album to be released; i really appreciate it.
- production: so bangtan-esque and american, they really wanted to give some bops out there. yoongi, namjoon and hoseok were so involved into the making and production of this one, as usual, so props to them. their new sound kind of caught me off of guard, but i still loved it nevertheless. it had a lovely variety of sounds, but my fave one was definitely the old-school one. don't know if i'd loved it if they did another album like this one (watch me love the repackage nevertheless lmaooo)
- fav production: pied piper and mic drop
- lyrics: outstanding. they get better and better with each album, i love that. props to namjoon for being involved in writing most of these, whta a legend. i love the variety of topics they choose for this one, they're all important and so well put out there by them. i hope they keep that up
- fav lyrics: either sea or her
- composition/instrumental: the fact that the flute was here was refreshing, this whole sound was refreshing. they keep on working to get better and better with each album and i love that. one last time, the old school vibe was doing it for me, the bops were amazing and the songs were lit. a whole Album right there
- fav composition/instrumental: sea, her and serendipity. can't choose out of those ones.
- vocals: seokjin and taehyung really stood up in this album, in my humble opinion. they're finally getting the recognition they deserve as great vocalists and i'm here for it! nevertheles, jimin and jeongguk did an amazing job as well. namjoon's, yoongi's and hoseok's verses were as smooth as ever, they're really out there doig what they love the most. i loved that and i love them
