some of my favorite ao3 writers that just never seem to miss.

here's a not-so-short shortlist on my favorite ao3 writers as well as my favorite works from their bibliographies ! this is for experienced readers looking to expand their list of favorite authors and to newbies who have no clue where to start, kagehina is one of the largest relationship tags on ao3 after all. please be sure to check these wonderful authors out and support their works ! ok, i'll stop rambling now.

• esselle
  • esselle is an amazing writer whom i frequently read and recommend for their kagehina works (although they also write for other anime ships like tododeku) ! some fanfics on their page are nsfw so be sure to read the tags if you're interested in a fic ! esselle has a large bibliography but, here are some of my personal favorites !

  • The road to fame is a long one. There are ups and downs, peaks and valleys, good times and the bad. To Hollywood, they're still outsiders; to the studios—money. To the public, they are idols.

But to each other, they are best friends. That's the only billing that matters.

• Kageyama and Hinata try to fool all their friends into believing they're dating. The problem is, everybody already thought they had been for years.
• a couple of awesome players
• Shouyou meets volleyball and Kageyama at roughly the same time—during his first year of middle school.

  • another amazing author who i just can't get enough of ! unfortunately, their bibliography isn't as large as esselle's but, their works are just as amazing ! here are my personal favorites !
  • 10,787 miles away
  • Hinata goes viral on Twitter, causing a chain of event that lead to a happy ending.
  • as seen on tv
  • Kageyama Tobio watches video game live streams to help him study. This is all fine and good, until his favorite streamer’s roommate turns out to be the cutest guy Kageyama has ever seen.
  • a bento for dr. kageyama
  • Dr. Kageyama Tobio is a major grouch who’s bad with people. It’s no wonder no one in the whole building believes he’s married to sunshine incarnate.
• inko
  • inko is, unfortunately, a one-hit-wonder. they've only written one incomplete kagehina omegaverse fic. despite that, this fic is over 100k words and it's my absolute favorite omegaverse fic i've ever read. if you're interested please give it a read !
  • body language
  • The story in which Hinata and Kageyama swear that they’re rivals, form a magical dueling partnership, and find out that’s not how instincts work.
• killthespare
  • killthespare aka the writer of my favorite fanfic ever has some amazing works spanning across different fandoms. if you've made it this far, you probably know what comes next. here's my personal favorite !
  • all in the cards
  • The Card Kingdoms Stand United.
  • ...of course, this would be a lot easier if Hearts had their King. It's too bad that Oikawa Tooru emphatically does not want the job. Meanwhile, the threat of war looms on the horizon and Hinata Shouyou just uncovered a plot that could rock the entire kingdom to the core.
• day
  • day mainly specializes in short oneshots so, if you're not a fan of the longer works, this is definitely the writer for you ! here are my personal favorites !
  • operation: find out if hinata has a hot bod
  • Kiyoko compliments Hinata's body. It turns into a chaotic mess where the team (aka Tanaka and Nishinoya) tries everything in their power to get a glimpse of Hinata shirtless.
  • Hinata is oblivious and Kageyama is stressed out.
  • 5 times hinata was picked up and turned off + 1 time it turned him on
  • hinata has an off switch that turns into an on switch with certain people

ALRIGHTY, there's my list of my favorite kagehina writers on ao3. obviously, there are PLENTY of other writers who are absolutely amazing but, these are just my personal faves. if you actually read through this, i hope it was helpful and i hope you discovered an amazing writer !
