  • oh my god this fic is a masterpiece and i love it so much. you may be thinking, circus? really? trust. me. i cried, there's so much emotion in the evolution of their characters and the occasional tension-raising plot point, all cresting in an epic, fiery climax and coming to a happy ending.

  • love the story or new york based wonwoo and seoul based, single parent mingyu. it's heart-wrenching, mature, thoughtful, and sweet and overall a good read... if you can read it. writing is vivid but in hindsight, it's at times unreadable and confusing. still recommend.

  • it's seriously a crime that i haven't finished this fic yet because it's incredible. the writing is very, very high quality and i can't get enough of soonseok's unconditional love for one another and the ever twisting plot and drama of soonyoung's skating career. i love how soonyoung's journey emotionally may reflect how some readers feel and how the author addresses his feelings in a positive way. highly recommend!

  • this is absolutely incredible. i usually don't read verkwan but i had to read the second i saw "southern gothic." and they don't. disappoint. the imagery is vivid and i feel both on edge and comforted at all times. a unique piece of art that i need to reread and finish!!

  • really, really, good high school au with well-developed characters, backstories, and conflict. i really need to get back into it because there's so much good drama and strange romantic tension. definitely recommend to anyone looking for a classic high school setting fic that's well-written and hard to put down!

  • i'm a sucker for o!mingyu,,, i loved how this portrayed a budding relationship and mingyu's struggle with his identity realistically. the abundance of communication was nice, too! it was a good change of pace, honestly. NOTE: if you're uncomfortable with smut, i don't recommend it. not pwp, but sex is a central theme
