(2005, as opposed to '95 etc etc) Aside from the fact that I completely adore this story to begin with. I literally can watch this movie on repeat. And I don't mean oh I watched it yesterday, and now I am watching it today, I mean legitimately back to back to back. I study to the soundtrack. I know every line (also how the lines should go in the book) I am certifiably addicted. This adaptation got me hooked on P&P, Jane Austen, and well every period piece known to man. Ive seen Bride and Prejudice, the Bollywood adaptation, as a result of my addiction, more then once. Break up=P&P marathon. Love Interest=P&P marathon. Feel Fat=P&P Marathon. Good Day= P&P Marathon. I once had my father break open a DVD player because my copy of P&P was inside and it wouldn't eject. The fact that he did it should prove that he feared greatly what would happen if he didn't.(further proof of my addiction) Watch it, love it. If you don't get it, you're doing life wrong.
If you have never seen this movie you are doing yourself an injustice. All star RomCom cast.Jude Law(should be enough incentive)Cameron Diaz (again). Set in both England and California, my two favorite places. Love, laughs, depression,a Mini Cooper, Jude Law, good Jack Black, a happy ending, I mean need I convince you further. As a testament to my addiction I will share this;there is a very humorous and quotable scene in the movie that takes place in a Blockbuster, my brother, and father know this scene by heart, not because they have a particular affinity for the movie, but because they have heard this scene so many times, while I watched it on the couch, that they have it memorized. My love for this movie really can be blamed on two things. Boredom, and DVR. After seeing this movie with my mother and two friends (interestingly the same two friends I saw P&P with) my father, being the considerate man he is recorded it for me, and it never left the DVR. So, when Disney Channel, and VH1 didn't cut it and TBS no longer became very funny, I resorted to scrolling to the bottom of the DVR library and pressing play.
