- Pros:
- With the right deal, cheaper insurance than a car (most likely Progressive or Dairyland)
- Much more fun than a car and something to look forward to after some hard hours of studying
- Cheap on gas
- Super cool aesthetics and become a more defensive, conscious driver
- Easier to store than a car if I study abroad
- Around USAFA's Cadet Area is a really good place to practice before ever even hitting a big road
- Cons:
- Little storage capacity (can be remedied with borrowing someone's car or going shopping with them and condensing grocery trips into weekly trips)
- Harder to go on weekend trips (can borrow Carl's car or pack light)
- More dangerous (With good gear, riding ATGATT, practicing defensive driving, and not taking stupid risks when riding, my risk for crashing is significantly reduced)
- Limited riding time during the cold winter (I can layer underneath and the helmet keeps cold wind out of my face; the base is locked down during snowstorms, so I wouldn't be allowed to leave base anyways if I was even crazy enough to attempt to ride in the snow)
