  • Unicorn-Collecting
    • This included figurines, books, pictures, etc. This little treasure of a hobby lasted until about 6th grade. Maybe 7th. Should this also be under 'Embarassing Behaviors'?
  • Maze-Creating
    • This was a useful way to kill time using graph paper in junior high, and was probably the best thing that ever came out of me in math class.
  • List-making
    • Still a tried-and-true favorite. Probably began about the time I could write. Notable lists include: the one I made at the approximate age of 8 while on vacation in Florida that mapped out the rest of my life (according to it, I'm fairly behind schedule); the list of boys I have kissed (there have been edits over the years for some I have decided 'don't count'); and ongoing lists of books to read.
  • Softball-playing
    • This tragically ended with an extensive nose-breaking injury that landed me in the hospital for a week and neccessitated a blood transfusion. Time-span (of the sport, not the injury): ages 7-16. A glorious run, sometimes literally.
  • Various other sports
    • To include soccer, gymnastics, cheerleading, golf, and tennis.
  • Piano
    • I took the preliminary two years mandated by my mother, and then some.
  • Art
    • Then, now, forever.
  • Bottle-Collecting
    • Has transformed over the years - it began innocently enough with Jones Soda bottles (love the caps), ventured into 'unique' looking bottles, wandered into the collection of bottles which had contained alcohol of various sorts, and has now hopefully stopped. Because that ish accumulates.
  • Running
    • As a general rule, during the spring semester of my junior year of college (2007) I ran no less than 2 miles a night. This was largely due to how angry I was at this point in my life. My legs were killer.
  • Travel
    • Necessary for purposes of sanity. Places visited include: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Tennesse, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, Washington D.C., Canada, Mexico, the Strait of Gibraltar, Spain, Tanzania, London, and the Dominican Republic.
  • Biking
    • As of May, 14, 2009 I am going on four days of this newfound hobby. I have mastered the gears (this took three days), my butt hurts less (this is ongoing) and I have found a better path to ride (this happened last night).
  • Vegetarianism
    • For fun, I was a vegetarian during most of my junior year of college (2006-07). (No, this is not why I was angry at the time.)
